Iekšējie un ārējie faktori Lietuvas Republikas lēmumā par Taivānas diplomātiskā statusa paaugstināšanu

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Iekšējie un ārējie faktori Lietuvas Republikas lēmumā par Taivānas diplomātiska statusa paaugstināšanu”. Darbs ir aktuāls ar to, ka Lietuvas – Ķīnas Tautas Republikas (ĶTR) diplomātiskais konflikts, ko izraisīja Taivānas pārstāvniecības atvēršana Lietuvā kļuva par pamatu arī ĶTR - Eiropas Savienības (ES) attiecību pasliktināšanai. Ņemot vērā šīs nopietnas sekas uz abu valstu attiecībām, ka arī uz attiecībām starp ES un ĶTR, šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt iekšējus un ārējus faktorus, kas motivēja Lietuvu pieņemt lēmumu par Taivānas diplomātiskā statusa paaugstināšanu. Darba saturā var atrast notikumu vēsturi, Lietuvas attiecību dinamiku ar ĶTR un Taivānu, ka arī iekšējus un ārējus iemeslus Lietuvas lēmumam. Darba galvenie secinājumi: galvenais ārējais faktors, kas motivēja Lietuvu paaugstināt diplomātiskās attiecības ar Taivānu bija Amerikas Savienoto Valstu (ASV) – ĶTR konkurējošās attiecības. Galvenais iekšējais faktors – 2020.gada notikušas Lietuvas Seimas vēlēšanas, kurās uzvarēja Lietuvas kristīgie demokrāti.

The topic of the bachelor's thesis is "Internal and external factors in the decision of the Republic of Lithuania to upgrade the diplomatic status of Taiwan". The work is important as the diplomatic conflict between Lithuania and the People's Republic of China (PRC) caused by the opening of a Taiwanese representation in Lithuania also became the basis for the deterioration of EU-China relations. Given these serious consequences for relations between the two countries, as well as for relations between the EU and the PRC, the aim of this work is to study the internal and external factors that motivated Lithuania to decide to upgrade Taiwan's diplomatic status. The content of the paper contains the history of events, the dynamics of Lithuania's relations with the PRC and Taiwan, as well as internal and external reasons for Lithuania's decision. The main conclusions of the work: the main external factor that motivated Lithuania to upgrade diplomatic relations with Taiwan was the competitive relations between the United States (USA) and the PRC. The main internal factor is the elections to the Lithuanian Seimas in 2020, in which the Lithuanian Christian Democrats won.
