Līdzdalībā balstīta fotosērija par jauniešiem ar psihiskās veselības problēmām.

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs “Līdzdalībā balstīta fotosērija ar jauniešiem par psihiskās veselības problēmām” tika veidots, lai izmantojot fotogrāfiju kā mediju, sabiedrībai stāstītu par aktuālām tēmām, kas publiski netiek pietiekami pārstāvētas vai tiek ignorētas. Pašnāvība ir viens no jauniešu biežākajiem nāves cēloņiem 2021. gadā un Latvijā ir viens no augstākajiem psihisko un uzvedības traucējumu izplatības rādītājiem jauniešu vidū (Pusaudžu un jauniešu psihoterapijas centrs 2020). Latvijas sabiedrībā psihiskās veselība tēma ir neērta un sensitīva, taču ar fotogrāfijas palīdzību ir iespējams konfrontēt un informēt skatītāju par to, kas notiek apkārt. Veidojot foto sēriju ir iespējams atklāt un pētīt šo problēmu tieši jauniešu vidū. Fotogrāfijās ir attēlota jaunā paaudze, kura foto sērija piesaistīs savu vienaudžu auditoriju. Dalībnieku īdzdalības paņēmiens izpaudīsies viņu izvēlēs gan par fotografēšanas vietu, kur viņi jūtas mierīgi, kas saistās ar pozitīvām emocijām vai drošību, gan viņu ieņemto pozu. Publiski runājot par psihiskajām slimībām, akcentējot tos ar reāliem cilvēkiem, kuri dalās savā pieredzē, ir veids kā rosināt publiskas diskusijas par šo tēmu. Fotogrāfijas tiek papildinātas ar svarīgākajām atziņām no sarunām, tādejādi sniedzot plašāku ieskatu par psihisko problēmu simptomiem, veidiem kā ar to sadzīvot ikdienā un sabiedrības attieksmi pret psihiskajām problēmām. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no divām daļām – teorētiskās un radošā darba koncepcijas daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkota fotogrāfijas portreta vēsture, portreta vidē veidošana, fotogrāfijas kā pētniecības instrumenta pielietojums, vizuālās stāstīšanas prakse un aprakstu veidošana. Bakalaura darba koncepcijas daļā tiek aprakstīts līdzdalībā balstītās foto sērijas izveide. Vispirms tiks veikta labās prakses piemēru apskats, tam sekos radošā darba pamatojums un vēstījums, idejas un realizācijas apraksts, kas ietver gatavošanos fotografēšana un dalībnieku un vietu izvēli, kā arī radošā darba vizuālā noformējuma pamatojumu– fotogrāfiju, aprakstu veidošanu un portretu sērijas publicēšanu. Foto sērija ir publicēta Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes studentu medijā “Skaļāk”. Analizējot un pētot atlasīto teoriju, kā arī veicot praktisko darbu, darba autore ir nonākusi pie vairākiem secinājumiem. Bakalaura darba secinājumos tiek atklātas atziņas par līdzdalībā balstītas fotogrāfijas sērijas izveidi kā publikāciju un vizuālu stāstu, lai uzrunātu mērķauditoriju, jauniešu spilgtākās pārdomas par psihiskās veselības problēmām, kā arī atziņas par psihiskās veselības tēmas atspoguļojumu Latvijas medijos.

The bachelor "Participatory Photo Series About Young People with Mental Health Problems" was created to use photography as a medium to tell the public about mental health problems that are ignored in public. Suicide is one of the most common causes of death among young people in 2021 and Latvia has one of the highest rates of the prevalence of mental and behavioral disorders among young people (Pusaudžu un jauniešu psihoterapijas centrs 2020). The subject of mental health is inconvenient and sensitive, but with the help of photography it is possible to confront and inform the viewer. By creating a series of photos, it is possible to study this problem among young people. Participation will be reflected in the participants' choice of a place where they feel good and can pose comfortably. Speaking publicly about mental illness, highlighting them with real people who share their experiences, is a way to stimulate public debate on the subject. The photos are supplemented with citations from the conversations, providing a broader insight into the mental problems they face in their daily lives. The bachelor consists of two parts - the theoretical and creative work concept. The theoretical part deals with the history of photography, the creation of environmental portraits, the use of photography as a research tool, the practice of visual storytelling and the creation of photo descriptions. The concept part of the bachelor describes the creation of a participatory photo series. There will be a review of good practice analysis, followed by a message for the creative work, a description of the idea and implementation, including preparation for the choice of participants and venues, and a series of portraits. The photo series has been published in Riga Stradins University student media "Skaļāk". Analyzing and researching the selected theory, as well as performing practical work, the author has come to several conclusions. The conclusions of the bachelor reveal the findings of the development of a series of participatory photography as a publication to address the target audience as well as the brightest reflections of young people on mental health problems.
