Abstract
Accurate and reliable corneal thickness measurements are crucial for diagnosing corneal diseases, assessing glaucoma, and preoperatively evalutating for refractive surgery. Although, ultrasound pachymetry remains the "gold standard" for measuring corneal thickness, it has several important limitations. Therefore, several new, non-invasive techniques have been developed, including optical coherence tomography. In Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital corneal thickness can be measured with Heidelberg Anterion, Heidelberg Spectralis and Optovue AngioVue optical coherence tomography. To our knowledge, no study has been carried out to determine whether these devices are interchangeable and whether the results obtained are comparable. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the correlation and agreement in central corneal thickness measurements obtained by Heidelberg Anterion, Heidelberg Spectralis and Optovue AngioVue optical coherence tomography.
