Fizioterapeita profesijas atpazīstamība Latvijas ģimenes ārstu praksēs

Abstract

Mūsdienās fizioterapijas tehnoloģijas ir plaši pielietotas visā pasaulē, vienā no fizioterapijas profesijas definīcijām skan: fizioterapija ietver holistisku pieeju sāpju, kustību traucējumu vai funkciju optimizācijas profilakse un diagnostika, lai uzlabotu sabiedrības veselību un labklājību no atsevišķa indivīda vai sabiedrības perspektīvas. Fizioterapeita profesija Latvijā vēl ir diezgan jauna un, iespējams, daudzi nezina, ka fizioterapijai ir būtiska nozīme cilvēka veselības, kustīguma un fiziskās neatkarības saglabāšanā. Latvijā pacienti vispirms apmeklē ģimenes ārstu, kurš uzklausot pacienta sūdzības, apsver nosūtījuma nepieciešamību pie kāda konkrēta specialista, tas nozīmē, ka ģimenes ārsta zināšanu trūkums par kādu no specialitātēm samazina nosūtījumu iespēju pie šī specialista. Šī darba mērķis ir izvērtēt Latvijas ģimenes ārstu informētības līmeni par fizioterapeita profesiju un tā lomu pacienta rehabilitācijā (ārstēšanā). Bakalaura darba teoretiskā daļā aprakstīta fizioterapijas vēsture pasaulē un Latvijā, statistika fizioterapijas jomā, fizioterapijas tehnoloģijas, ko pielieto Latvijā un atrasta informācija no pētījumiem par fizioterapijas profesijas atpazīstamību. Pētījumā tika iekļautas 100 aptaujas anketas, kuras aizpildīja Latvijā praktizējošie ģimenes ārsti. No visiem respondentiem 90% bija sievietes. Vidējais respondentu vecums 54 gadi. Pētījumā tika izmantota aptauja ar nosaukumu “Fizioterapeita profesijas atpazīstamība Latvijas ģimenes ārstu praksēs” (Awareness of physiotherapy among general practicioners; P. Agni, S. Battin, 2017). Pētījuma rezultāti norāda uz to, ka 100% no respondentiem ir zināšanas par to kas ir fizioterapija, 70% no respondentiem uzzināja par fizioterapiju augstākās izglītības iegūšanas laikā, 36% no respondentiem uzskata, ka fizioterapeiti izraksta ortozes un protēzes, kā arī 30% domā, ka fizioterapeitiem ir iespēja izrakstīt medikamentus pacientiem, 18% atbildēja, ka fizioterapeits nav tikpat nepieciešams kā ģimenes ārsts un 85% no respondentiem pamudinātu savas ģimenes locekli/draugu kļūt par fizioterapeitu. Pēc pētījuma rezultātiem ģimenes ārsta vecums un darba stāžs būtiski neietekmē ārstu informētības līmeni par fizioterapeita profesiju Latvijā, kas varētu būt saistīts ar to, ka visu respondentu vecums un darba stāžs nebija statistiski atšķirīgs. Kopumā tiek secināts, ka Latvijā praktizējošie ģimenes ārsti ir informēti par fizioterapeita profesiju, apzinās fizioterapeita lomu pacientu rehabilitācijā, tomēr daudziem ģimenes ārstiem trūkst zināšanu par fizioterapeita pielietotām metodēm un fizioterapeitu darbības jomām. Nowadays, physiotherapy technologies have been widely used all over the world, one of the definitions of the physiotherapy profession says: physiotherapy involves a holistic approach to the prevention and diagnosis of pain, movement disorders or function optimization to improve public health and well-being from the perspective of an individual or society. The profession of physiotherapist is still quite young in Latvia and probably many do not know that physiotherapy plays an important role in maintaining human health, mobility and physical independence. In Latvia, patients first visit a general practitioner who, after hearing the patient's complaints, considers the need for a referral to a particular specialist, which means that the lack of knowledge of the general practitioner about any of the specialties reduces the possibility of referral to this specialist. The aim of this work is to assess the level of awareness of Latvian general practitioners about the profession of physiotherapist and its role in the rehabilitation (treatment) of the patient. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis described the history of physiotherapy in the world and in Latvia, statistics in the field of physiotherapy, physiotherapy technologies applied in Latvia and information from studies on the recognition of the profession of physiotherapy was found. The study included 100 questionnaires filled out by general practitioners practicing in Latvia. Of all respondents 90% were women. Average age of respondents was 54 years. The study used a questionnaire entitled “Awareness of physiotherapy among Latvian general practitioners” (Awareness of physiotherapy among general practitioners; P. Agni, S. Battin, 2017). The results of the study show that 100% of respondents have knowledge about what physiotherapy is, 70% of respondents learned about physio-therapy during graduation, 36% of respondents still believe that physiotherapists prescribe orthoses and prostheses and 30% think that physiotherapists have the opportunity to prescribe medication to patients, 18% replied that a physiotherapist is not as necessary as a general practitioner and 85% of respondents would encourage their family member/friend to become a physiotherapist. In conclusion from the results of the study, the age and years of practice of the general practitioner does not significantly affect the level of awareness of doctors in physiotherapy in Latvia, which could be because the age and years of practice of all respondents were not statistically different. In general, it is concluded that general practitioners practicing in Latvia are aware of the profession of a physiotherapist, aware of the role of a physiotherapist in the rehabilitation of patients, however, many family doctors lack knowledge about the methods used by the physiotherapist and the areas of activity of physiotherapists.
