The creative bachelor's thesis „Creation of a music video clip in the surreal genre for the music group "Advanced Blue" ”offers a music video for the Latvian psychedelic-bluesrock group "Advanced Blue". Montage techniques used in the video post-production and video creation process allows to create a unified work that visually enhances the message of the song "Ods" (from Latvian ‘mosquito’). The video represents the genre of surrealism, as it compiles with the genre sound of "Advanced Blue" which is pschycadelic rock, the author believes that aesthetically surrealism would be the most satisfying genre to bring the essence of the song to the world as both surrealism movement and psychedelia culture brings awareness of the imprortance of our subcontious mind. Surrealism manifests itself in the very construction of the scenario and atmospheric feel. The lyrics of the song is transposed into one unified story, which will allow the viewer to understand the idea, but will not say anything in front. Surrealism is grateful because it allows the essence to be told in the abstract way, while allowing the viewer to interpret it. The possibilities of modern technologies are very wide to be able to combine different montage techniques and implement all artistic ideas. The creation of a music video for Latvian music band, which represents psychedelic-bluesrock, is relevant to the current alternative music content offered in the Latvian media. The amount and quality of the content of the alternative genre can be improved in order to promote the diversity of music in Latvia, thus enriching and developing the Latvian music culture industry in general. Also, taking into account the global situation, it is important to help musicians reach their audiance while face to face concerts are not an option, therefore music video is a way to help musicians gain audiance and popularity. It is motivating and challenging for the individuals working in communication and multimedia sphere to create content that conveys thought, keeps attention and gives the public a broader insight into the Latvian alternative music niche.
