Pandēmijas izraisītās trauksmes attēlošana fotogrāfijās populārākajos ziņu portālos Latvijā un Īrijā no 2020. gada līdz 2021.gadam.

Abstract

Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Pandēmijas izraisītās trauksmes attēlošana fotogrāfijās populārākajos ziņu portālos Latvijā un Īrijā no 2020. gada līdz 2021.gadam”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā Latvijas un Īrijas ziņu portāli rāmē pandēmijas raisīto trauksmi un kādi stereotipi dominē šajā rāmējumā. Darbs sastāv no teorētiskās un pētnieciskās daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā ir izveidotas 4 nodaļas. Darbs tiek būvēts uz rāmējuma teorijas un semiotikas metožu pamatiem, kas aplūkoti pirmajā divās nodaļās un kurus izzināt palīdzēja Artura Asa Bergera (Arthur Asa Berger) grāmata “Medijs un komunikācijas pētījuma metodes” (“Media and communication research methods”) un sociologa Ervinga Gofmana grāmata “Rāmja analīze Eseja pieredzes organizēšanā” (Frame analysis: An essay in the organization of experience”). Tālākajās nodaļās tiek dots ieskats fotogrāfijas un foto žurnālistikas attīstības tendencēs Latvijā un pasaulē, īpaši izceļot veselības tēmu foto žurnālistikas vietējā un globālā mērogā.Preses fotogrāfiju, foto redaktora un foto žurnālista pienākumus savukārt palīdzēja izvērtēt fotogrāfijas kultūras pioniera Rolanda Bārta (Roland Barthes) “Image, Music, Text” un “Camera Lucida” grāmatas. Lai izprastu, kā rodas stereotips, tika izskatīta literatūra par stereotipiem un stigmu, kur tika smelta informācija no Ervinga Gofmana grāmatas “Stigma: Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity”. Bakalaura darba pētījuma sadaļā tika analizēti 12 attēli, kas nākuši no atšķirīgiem īru un latviešu ziņu portāliem. Pētījumā izmantota semiotiskās analīzes pētniecības metode, specifiskāk, trīs meta funkciju ideja, kura sīki aprakstīta Guntera Ralfa Kreses (Gunther Rolf Kress) un Teodora van Lēvena (Theodoor van Leeuwen) 1996. gadā izdotajā grāmatā “Lasot attēlus: vizuālā dizaina gramatika” (Reading Images: The grammar of visual design). Attēlu analīzē iegūtie dati spētu palīdzēt novērot, kā atšķiras abu valstu ziņu portālu spēja attēlot trauksmi fotoattēlos šādā pasaulei kritiskā laikā. Izstrādātā bakalaura darba apjoms ir 68 lapaspuses. Pievienoti 3 pielikumi ar analizētajiem attēliem, saitēm, kas norāda uz rakstiem, un interviju ar portāla jauns.lv tehnisko redaktoru Madaru Jurki.

The title of bachelor’s thesis Photographic representation of pandemic caused anxiety in popular Latvian and Irish news websites from year 2020. - 2021. The aim of thesis is to find out how Latvian and Irish news portals frame pandemic caused anxiety and which stereotypes are dominant in the frame. Thesis consists of two parts theoretical and research part. Theoretical part is divided in 4chapters. The work is built on the foundations of framing theory and semiotic methods. Arthur Asa Berger's book "Media and communication research methods" and "Writer Ervin Gofman's book" Frame Analysis Essay in Organizing Experience ") Frame analysis: An essay in the organization of experience”) both were helpful in understanding these theories. The following chapters provide an insight into the developments of photography and photojournalism in Latvia and around the world, highlighting the topic of health in photojournalism locally and globally. Meanwhile Roland Barthes’s book “Image, Music, Text” and “Camera Lucida” helped to understand the culture of photography including press photography, duty of photo journalists and photo editors. To understand how stereotypes arise, the literature on stereotypes and stigma was examined, drawing information from Erving Gofman's book Stigma: “Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity”. 12 images from Irish and Latvian news portals were analyzed in the research section of the bachelor's thesis. The study uses a research method of semiotic analysis, more specifically, the idea of three meta-functions, which are described in detail in thebook “Reading Images: The Grammar of Visual Design” (1996) by Gunther Rolf Kress and Theodoor van Leeuwen.: The data obtained from the analysis of the images could help to observe the difference between the ability of the news media in the two countries to characterize anxiety in photographs at such a critical time in the world. The volume of the developed bachelor's thesis is 68 pages.
