Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Informācijas avotu izmantošana ziņu portālos. Satura kvantitatīvā analīze” pētīju četros Latvijā populāros interneta ziņu portālos (LSM.lv, Delfi.lv, Jauns.lv un La.lv) publicēto rakstu informācijas avotu, žanru, tēmu un norises vietu daudzveidību. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādi ir interneta ziņu portālos dominējošie informācijas avoti un vai Latvijas Sabiedrisko mediju portāla saturs daudzveidības un izmantoto avotu ziņā atšķiras no komerciālo mediju piedāvātās satura. Pētījuma rezultātus veido nejauši izvēlētu rakstu izlase no interneta portālu ziņu sadaļas, to saturs sadalīts 5 žanros, 12 tematiskajos virzienos un 12 informācijas avotos. Pētījums atklāj, ka interneta ziņu portālos dominē četri avotu veidi – amatpersonas, ziņu aģentūras, valsts iestādes un notikuma dalībnieki. Sabiedrisko mediju portāls savā saturā iekļauj mazāk ziņu aģentūru sagatavotas informācijas, bet vairāk notikuma dalībnieku viedokļu kā citi portāli. Pārējie avoti tiek izmantoti vienlīdz bieži. Dominējošie žanri ir ziņa un ziņu raksts. Galvenie tematiskie virzieni – Covid-19, politika un sabiedrība, ekonomika un bizness. Pārējie temati aprakstīti krietni retāk. Pozitīvi vērtējama tendence rakstos iekļaut primāro avotu sniegto informāciju, bet to biežāk varētu papildināt ar ekspertu un aculiecinieku viedokli. Ieteiktu dažādot izmantoto žanru veidus un tematiskos virzienus. Mediju satura daudzveidības uzlabošana ne tikai palīdz nodrošināt sabiedrības funkcijas, bet arī piesaistīt auditoriju ziņu portāliem. Pētījuma rezultāti var būt noderīgi interneta ziņu portālu redaktoriem un žurnālistiem, kas vēlas dažādot publicēto saturu.

The research study “Usage of information sources in news websites. Quantitative content analysis” focuses on news articles posted by four Latvian news websites (LSM.lv, Delfi.lv, Jauns.lv un La.lv), analysing genre, themes and information sources. The objective of the research is to determine what are the main, most used information sources in news websites and to find out if Latvian public media web page is different to commercial media in use of information sources and diversity of content. The results are based on randomly selected news articles, divided in 5 genres, 12 themes and 12 groups of information sources. The research finds that four most used groups of information sources are officials, public authorities, news agencies and participants of the described events. Public media web page uses less information from the news agency and more from the participants of the events. Other sources are equally common. Predominant genres are news and news features. Main themes are Covid-19 pandemic, politics and social issues. Others are covered less frequently. Tendency of including participants of the events in news articles is positive, but I suggest adding expert and eyewitness opinions more often. I also suggest diversifying used genres and themes. Media diversity not only helps to maintain society functions, bet also attracts audience to the news website. The windings of this research can be useful for news web page journalists and editors who are looking to diversify their media content.
