Dzimuma identitātes jautājumu atspoguļojums Latvijas interneta medijos

Abstract

Bakalaura darba Dzimuma identitātes jautājumu atspoguļojums Latvijas interneta medijos galvenais izvirzītais mērķis ir noskaidrot to, kā Latvijas interneta medijos tiek atspoguļoti dzimuma identitātes jautājumi laika posmā no 2020. gada 1. janvāra līdz 2023. gada 31. decembrim. Pēdējo gadu laikā visā pasaulē ir aktualizējušies jautājumi par dzimuma identitāti un dažādiem tās aspektiem. Ņemot vērā jautājumu aktualitāti sabiedrība, tās svarīgumu, kā arī jutīgumu ir nepieciešams noskaidrot arī to, kā šī tēma tiek atspoguļota medijos. Lai to noskaidrotu darba ietvaros tika analizētas publikācijas četru gadu garumā no trīs izvēlētajiem Latvijas interneta medijiem – TVNET, LSM un Delfi. Kopumā ar kvantitatīvās kontentanalīzes metodi tika izanalizētas 276 publikācijas. Savukārt darba teorētiskajā daļā tika apskatīti svarīgākie jēdzieni, dzimuma identitātes idejas vēsturiski, kā arī Latvijā. Tāpat tika aprakstītas divas komunikācijas teorijas – rāmēšanas un dienas kārtības teorijas. Apkopojot un izanalizējot datus tika secināts, ka Latvijas interneta medijos par dzimuma identitātes jautājumiem netiek runāts pietiekami daudz. Rakstos, kuros tie tiek atspoguļoti, tas tiek darīts ļoti atturīgā veidā, un rakstu, kuros būtu plaši aprakstīta informācija, ir ļoti maz. Daļā no analizētajiem rakstiem viedokļu autori izteicās ne tikai atturīgi, bet dzimuma identitātes jautājumus atspoguļoja negatīvā veidā. Medijiem būtu mazāk jābaidās publicēt rakstus par šīm tēmām, un publicējot par tām jābūt iejūtīgākiem, ņemot vērā tēmas jutīgumu.

Bachelor’s thesis Gender identity question coverage in Latvian online media main objective is to find out how the Latvian internet media covers gender identity questions in the time period form 01.01.2020. to 31.12.2023.. In the past few years, questions about gender identity have become popular all over the world. Based on how popular these questions have become in society, it’s importance and sensitivity, it is important to find out how this topic is reflected in the media. To find that out, publications over the past four years were analyzed from different Latvian internet medias – TVNET, LSM and Delfi. In total 276 publications were analyzed using the quantitative content analysis method. In the works theoretical parts, such topics as gender identity’s main concepts, the idea of gender identity historically and in Latvia were researched. Also, two communication theories were described – framing and agenda setting theories. After summarizing and analyzing the data, the following was concluded – in the Latvian internet media there isn’t enough coverage of gender identity questions. Publications that do include these questions reflect the topic in a very restrained way. There is a very small number of publications that reflect these questions in a broad way. Some of the analyzed publications the authors spoke not only in a very restricted way but also reflected the gender identity questions in a very negative way. The media should not be afraid to publish more pieces about these topics and when publishing they should be more sensitive about them, considering the topics sensitive nature.
