Eksperimentāla filma 'Dimensijas'. Radošais darbs

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Eksperimentāla filma Dimensijas. Radošais darbs” mērķis ir izveidot eksperimentālu filmu Dimensijas, iedvesmojoties no 20. gadsimta mākslinieka un kino veidotāja Endija Vorhola filmām Miegs, Ēd un Empire. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek sniegts ieskats eksperimentālā kino vēsturē, tā veidos, kā arī apskatīts kāds ir eksperimentālais kino digitālajā laikmetā pasaulē un Latvijā. Nodaļā par Endiju Vorholu darba autore pievēršas mākslinieka daiļradei, kino darbiem un atsevišķi raksturo strukturālajā stilā veidotās filmas Miegs, Ēd un Empire. Radošā darba mērķis tiek sasniegts, un tiek secināts, ka eksperimentālais kino nodarbojas ar kino valodas dekonstruēšanu, izmantojot daudz un dažādus tehniskus paņēmienus un, ka Endija Vorhola agrākās filmas tiek uzskatītas par garlaicības izpētes objektiem, kurās viņš pievēršas kino valodas pamatelementam laikam. Ar šo elementu arī darba autore eksperimentē filmā Dimensijas, radot 2 stundu un 50 minūšu garu darbu, kurā tiek atspoguļoti darba veidošanas laikā esošās ārkārtējās situācijas radītie apstākļi. Darbā tiek aprakstītas problēmas eksperimentālā kino termina definēšanā un neprecizitātē, piedāvājot variantus balstoties uz profesionāļu viedokļiem, kā arī digitālā un analogā formāta pielietošanas problemātiku eksperimentālā kino sfērā Latvijā. Darba autore cenšas spert soļus problemātikas risināšanā, saucot digitāli veidotu filmu par eksperimentālu, kas ir pierasta prakse pasaules mērogā, bet netradicionāla Latvijā.

The objective of Bachelor’s thesis “Experimental film Dimensions. Creative Bachelor’s thesis” is to create an experimental film Dimensions inspired from 20th century artist and filmmaker Andy’s Warhol’s films Sleep, Eat and Empire. In theoretical chapter a glimpse into history and types of experimental cinema is indicated, also an insight in experimental cinema nowadays in the world and Latvia in particular is presented. In the chapter about Andy Warhol the author discuses Warhol’s creative work both in art and cinema concentrating on his structural experimental films Sleep, Eat and Empire. The objective of the creative thesis has been achieved and the author concludes that experimental cinema deconstructs the language of cinema, using different kind of techniques and that the early films of Andy Warhol are perceived as research of boredom. He focuses on the key element of the language of cinema – time. The author of the thesis uses the same element to construct the experimental film Dimensions which is 2 hours and 50 minutes long and reflects on the lockdown situation that was present during the writing of the thesis. Terminology problems of defining experimental cinema are discussed offering other titles inspired by opinions of professionals in the field. Also the usage of analog and digital formats in experimental cinema is indicated. Therefore the author chooses to name her digital film as experimental, which is standard practice in the world but not often used in Latvia.
