Praktizējošu ergoterapeitu un ergoterapijas studentu pašvērtējums par gatavību darbam ar dažādu seksuālo orientāciju pārstāvjiem

Abstract

ANOTĀCIJA Bakalaura darba nosaukums: Praktizējošu ergoterapeitu un ergoterapijas studentu pašvēr tējums par gatavību darbam ar dažādu seksuālo orientāciju pārstāvjiem Bakalaura darba autore: Dārta Plivna, Rehabilitācijas fakultātes studiju programmas “Er goterapija” 4. kursa studente. Pētījuma aktualitāte: Mūsdienās dažādu seksuālo orientāciju un dzimumidentitāšu pārstāvju skaits palielinās (Meyer. H. I., 2023). Neatkarīgi no seksuālās orientācijas, dzimumidentitātes vai jebkāda cita faktora, katram cilvēkam ir tiesības uz kvalitatīvu un augstākā līmeņa veselības aprūpi. Katrai personai ir tiesības uz cieņpilnu attieksmi (European Union Agency of Fundamental Rights, 2023). Tomēr joprojām pastāv nevielīdzības gan veselības aprūpes pakalpojumu saņemšanā, gan veselības aprūpes speciālistu attieksmē pret personām, kas pārstāv dažādu seksuālo orientāciju kopienu. Saprotot un analizējot veselības aprūpes speciālistu un veselības aprūpes pakalpojumu saņēmēju skatījumu un pieredzi, ir iespējams mainīt un uzlabot veselības aprūpes vidi (McNeill. G. S., McAteer. J., Jepson. R., 2021). Pētījuma mērķis: noteikt praktizējošu ergoterapeitu un ergoterapijas studentu pašvērtējumu par gatavību darbam ar dažādu seksuālo orientāciju pārstāvjiem. Metodes: pētījuma dizains ir kvantitatīvs, neeksperimentāls, aprakstošs. Pētījuma dalībnieki ir praktizējoši ergoterapeiti un Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes Rehabilitācijas fakultātes studiju pro grammas “Ergoterapija” studenti. Pielietotais novērtēšanas instruments LGBT klīnisko prasmju attīstības skala (LGBT-DOCSS) (LGBT Development of Clinical Skills Scale) (Bidell. M. P. 2017). Iegūtie dati analizēti ar aprakstošo statistiku, pielietota programmatūra IBM SPSS. Rezultāti: pētījumā piedalījās 79 dalībnieki. No dalībniekiem 65 % (n= 51) bija studenti no 1., 2., 3. un 4. studiju gada. LGBT-DOCSS skalas rezultāti: praktizējošu ergoterapeitu klīnisko prasmju vērtējums 4,37 un studentiem 4,30. Klīniskās gatavības vērtējums studentiem 3,28, ergo terapeitiem 3,43. LGBT-DOCSS iekšējā saskaņotība ir augsta (Kronbaha alfa = 0,796). Secinājumi: Praktizējošu ergoterapeitu un ergoterapijas studentu attieksmes līmenis pret dažādu seksuālo orientāciju un dzimumidentitāšu pārstāvjiem ir augsts, savukārt pašvērtējums par pamatzināšanām un klīnisko gatavību darbam – zems. ANNOTATION Title of bachelor's thesis: Self-assessment of occupational therapists and occupational the rapy students on readiness to work with representatives of different sexual orientations. Author of the bachelor's thesis: Dārta Plivna, 4th year student of the study program "Occu pational Therapy" at the Faculty of Rehabilitation. Topicality of the study: Today, the number of representatives of different sexual orientations and gender identities is increasing (Meyer. H. I., 2023). Regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or any other factor, every person has the right to quality and top-notch health care. Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity (European Union Agency of Fundamental Rights, 2023). However, there are inequalities in both the delivery of health services and the treatment of health professionals by individuals representing a community of different sexual orientations. By understanding and analyzing the perspectives and experiences of health care professionals and he alth care recipients, it is possible to change and improve the healthcare environment (McNeill. G. S., McAteer. J., Jepson. R., 2021). Purpose of the study: To determine the self-esteem of occupational therapists and occupa tional therapy students about their readiness to work with representatives of different sexual orien tations. Methods: The participants of the study are occupational therapists and students of the study program "Occupational Therapy" of the Faculty of Rehabilitation of Rīga Stradiņš University. Ap plied assessment tool LGBT Development of Clinical Skills Scale (LGBT-DOCSS) (Bidell. M. P. 2017). The obtained data are analyzed with descriptive statistics, the software IBM SPSS is used. Results: 79 participants participated in the study. Of the participants, 65 % (n= 51) were students from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of studies. Results of the LGBT-DOCSS scale: clinical skills scores for occupational therapists of 4.37 and 4.30 for students. Clinical readiness assessment for students 3.28, occupational therapists 3.43. Conclusions: The level of attitude of occupational therapists and occupational therapy stu dents towards representatives of different sexual orientations and gender identities is high. Self assessment of basic knowledge and clinical readiness to work with representatives of different sexual orientations and gender identities is low.
