Ergoterapeitu izglītība Latvijā no studentu un absolventu perspektīvas

Abstract

Pētījuma nosaukums: Ergoterapeitu izglītība Latvijā no studentu un absolventu perspektīvas. Aktualitāte: Ergoterapeita profesijas attīstības neatņemama sastāvdaļa – kvalitatīva topošo speciālistu izglītība. Studiju procesa kvalitātes uzlabošanai, nepieciešama pastāvīga studiju programmas pārskatīšana un plānošana. Viens no svarīgākajiem aspektiem studiju programmu pilnveidošanā ir atgriezeniskā saite no studentiem un absolventiem gan par studiju programmas priekšrocībām un trūkumiem, gan par profesijas nākotnes attīstības iespējām un perspektīvām (WFOT, 2016). Pētījuma mērķis: Noskaidrot faktorus, kas ietekmē ergoterapeitu un studentu studiju programmas “Ergoterapija” izvēli, apmierinātību ar studiju procesu un profesionālo karjeru pēc universitātes absolvēšanas, kā arī vīziju par turpmāko profesijas attīstību. Pētījuma dizains: Kvantitatīvs, neeksperimentāls, šķērsgriezuma pētījums. Pētījuma dalībnieki: Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes bakalaura studiju programmas “Ergoterapija” 1.– 4.studiju gada studenti un absolventi, Latvijas Ergoterapeitu Asociācijas biedri. Pētījuma metodes: Dalībnieku viedokļa noskaidrošana, izmantojot aptaujas “Profesionālā karjera ergoterapijā Latvijā no studentu perspektīvas” un “Profesionālā karjera ergoterapijā Latvijā no absolventu perspektīvas” Pētījuma rezultāti: Pētījumā piedalījās 184 dalībnieki. Vidējais absolventu apmierinātības līmenis ar profesijas izvēli 5 ballu sistēmā – 4.3 balles. Balstoties uz iegūtajiem rezultātiem, 92% no studiju programmas “Ergoterapija” studentiem plāno strādāt izvēlētajā nozarē pēc universitātes absolvēšanas. Secinājumi: Galvenie kritēriji, kas ietekmē ergoterapeita profesijas izvēli ir ieinteresētība sniegt pakalpojumu sabiedrībai un vēlme pēc profesionālās karjeras. Studiju programma “Ergoterapija” atbilst Pasaules Ergoterapeitu Federācijas minimālajiem standartiem. Lielāka daļa no pētījuma dalībniekiem ir apmierināti ar studiju programmas “Ergoterapija” izvēli, viņu pārliecību par savām kompetencēm un motivāciju ietekmē docētāju cieņpilna attieksme un mācību vajadzību izprašana. Aizvien vairāk studentu vēlētos praktizēt izvēlētajā nozarē pēc studiju programmas “Ergoterapija” absolvēšanas.

Title of the study: Education of Occupational Therapists in Latvia from the Perspective of Students and Graduates. Topicality: An integral part of the development of the occupational therapist profession is the education of future specialists. To improve the quality of the study process, it is necessary to constantly review and plan the study program. One of the most important aspects in improving study programs is feedback from students and graduates about the advantages and disadvantages of the study program and about the future vision and perspectives of the profession (WFOT, 2016). The aim of the study: To find out the factors that influence the choice of occupational therapists and students' study program "Occupational Therapy", satisfaction with the study process and professional career after university graduation, as well as the vision of the future development of the profession. Study design: Quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. Research participants: 1st – 4th year students and graduates of Riga Stradiņš University's bachelor study program "Occupational Therapy", members of Latvian Association of Occupational Therapists. Research methods: Finding out the opinion of the participants using the surveys "Professional career in occupational therapy in Latvia from the perspective of students" and "Professional career in occupational therapy in Latvia from the perspective of graduates". Results of the study: 184 participants participated in the study. The average level of satisfaction of graduates with the choice of profession in a 5-point system – 4.3 points. Based on the obtained results, 92% of the students of the "Occupational Therapy" study program plan to work in the chosen industry after graduating from the university. Conclusions: The main criteria that influence the choice of the occupational therapist's profession are the interest in providing a service to society and the desire for a professional career. The study program "Occupational Therapy" meets the minimum standards of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Most of the research participants are satisfied with the choice of the "Occupational Therapy" study program, their confidence in their competences is influenced by the teachers' respectful attitude and understanding of learning needs. More and more students would like to practice in the chosen field after graduating from the "Occupational Therapy" study program.
