Pētījumā piedalījās 136 dalībnieki vecumā no 19 līdz 64 gadiem, no kuriem 84 (61,8%) bija sievietes, vidējais dalībnieku vecums 43,5 gadi (SD = 12,99). | lv-LV |
dc.description.abstract | The topic of this coursework is ‘’The relationship between attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination and personality traits’’. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to research the relationship between attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination and personality traits, to select and analyze both the oldest and the most recent sources of information and literature about attitude, attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination and personality traits. The bachelor's thesis has the following research questions: 1) Is there a relationship between the general attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccination and personality traits (at the level of factors and traits)?; 2) Is there a relationship between cognitive beliefs that are a component of attitudes toward vaccination against COVID-19 and personality traits (at the factor level)? This study included 136 participants aged 19 to 64 years, of whom 84 (61.8%) were women, the mean age of participants is 43.5 years (SD = 12.99). The Latvian Personality Survey (Perepjolkina, 2014) was used in the study. The survey consists of 100 questions, 6 scales, each of which has 4 subscales. In order to determine the respondents' attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccination, a modified survey developed by the RSU laboratory was used to test the doctors of the Stradiņa hospital about their attitude towards vaccination (Lielšvāgere-Endele, Puzanova, Koļesņikova, Millere, 2021). Data was collected remotely between February 15, 2022 and April 24, 2022 using a Google Form. Respondents were approached through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. social platforms and respondents were asked to forward the questionnaire to other possible respondents. Respondents who showed higher extraversion scores on the personality trait survey were found to have more negative attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccination than respondents with moderate or low extraversion scores. Respondents who showed high levels of conscientiousness and favorability in the personality trait survey, especially in subscales such as circumspection, agreeableness, and obedience, were found to have a more positive and accepting attitude toward the COVID-19 vaccination. | en-UK |
