No visiem sociodemogrāfiskajiem rādītājiem, izglītības līmeņa grupās bija vismazāk statistiski nozīmīgu rezultātu. dc.description.abstract | Title: Relationship between smoking habits and arterial hypertension in sociodemographic groups in Latvia. Aim: To investigate the relationship between smoking habits and arterial hypertension in sociodemographic groups in Latvia. Actuality: Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death in Latvia. Despite the decrease in the proportion of the population who smoke, smoking remained unchanged as a primary risk factor for disability and premature death of the population, especially among men, among whom the proportion of daily smokers is very high. Simultaneously with the decrease in the proportion of the population who smoke, new trends in smoking habits can be observed. Therefore, it is important to identify smoking habits in order to reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in Latvia Hypotheses: There are statistical differences in smoking habits depending on arterial hypertension in sociodemographic groups. Methods: The study was carried out by analyzing the database of the study of habits affecting the health of the population of Latvia of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. A total of 13 variables and their correlation with each other were analyzed. Attention was drawn to the relationship of seven smoking habits with arterial hypertension in three categories of sociodemographic groups - gender, age and education. Conclusions: There are trends in the association of many smoking habits with arterial hypertension in many sociodemographic groups, but not all are statistically significant. The prevalence of arterial hypertension strongly increases with age, which makes it difficult to analyze the smoking habit as a separate factor in the mentioned relationship. From all sociodemographic indicators, educational level groups had the least statistically significant results. Work volume: 52 pages, including 12 images and 1 appendix. | en-UK |
