Naratīva struktūra un stilistika populārākajos Netflix dokumentālajos kriminālseriālos.

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēmas nosaukums ir “Naratīva struktūra un stilistika populārākajos ‘’Netflix’’ dokumentālajos kriminālseriālos”. Darba mērķis ir analizēt ‘’Netflix’’ dokumentālo kriminālseriālu naratīvu struktūru, noskaidrojot kādas iezīmes padara šo saturu pieprasītu patērētājam. Darba teorētiskajā daļā ir aprakstītas dažādas žanra iezīmes un attīstība, kas saistās ar izvēlēto tēmu. Aplūkota dokumentālo seriālu attīstība un vēsture, kriminālseriālu žanra attīstība un ‘’True crime’’ žanra attīstība, platformas “Netflix” vēsture, kā arī naratīva struktūra un stilistika dokumentālajos kriminālseriālos, pēc kuriem veidoti analīzes kodi. Pētnieciskajā daļā, izmantojot kvalitatīvo kontentanalīzi, tiek veikta trīs “Netflix” dokumentālo kriminālseriālu analīze. Analīzei izvēlētie dokumentālie kriminālseriāli ir ‘’Nevajag b**k ar kaķiem: interneta slepkavas medības’’ (‘’Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer’’), ‘’Sarunas ar slepkavu: Teda Bandija lentes’’ (‘’Conversations with a Killer: Ted Budy Tapes’’) un ‘’Saglabātāji’’ (‘’The Keepers’’) . Diskusijas daļā veikts pētījuma rezultātu apkopojums un diskusija par to saistību ar teorētisko daļu. Darba noslēgumā veikti secinājumi un priekšlikumi par darbā skartās tēmas tālāku attīstīšanu un darba iespējamo uzlabošanu.

The title of the bachelor thesis is "Narrative structure and stylistics in the most popular "Netflix" crime documentary series". The aim of the work is to analyze the narrative structure of Netflix's documentary crime series, to find out what features make this content demanded by the consumer. The theoretical part of the work consist of various features of the genre and its development, which is related to the chosen topic. The development and history of documentary series, the development of the crime series genre and the development of the "True crime" genre, the history of the "Netflix" platform, as well as the narrative structure and stylistics in the crime documentary series, based on which the analysis codes were created, are considered. The research part consists of the analysis of three “Netflix” crime documentaries , using qualitative content analysis. The crime documentary series selected for analysis are: "Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer", ‘’Conversations with a Killer: Ted Budy Tapes" and ‘’The Keepers’’. The discussion part consists of summarization of the results, as well as a discussion about the relation between the results and theoretical part. The conclusion of the thesis contains the findings of the study and suggestions for further development of the thesis.
