Publikācijas par kriptovalūtām Latvijas un ASV ziņu portālos 2021. un 2022. gadā.

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Publikācijas par kriptovalūtām Latvijas un ASV ziņu portālos 2021. un 2022. gadā” tiek pētīts diskurss četru ziņu portālu publikācijās par kriptovalūtām 2021. gada novembrī un 2022. gada novembrī. Analizētie ziņu portāli ir “Delfi.lv”, “Tvnet.lv”, CNN un “Fox News”. Pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai izmantota satura kvantitatīvā analīze un kritiskā diskursa analīze. Ar šo metožu palīdzību noskaidrots, kāds ir diskurss publikācijās par kriptovalūtām un kādu viedokli pauž diskursa aktori. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā aplūkotas teorētiķu atziņas par diskursu un kritiskā diskursa analīzi, kā arī raksturoti interneta ziņu portāli un kriptovalūtu attīstība. Empīriskajā daļā veikta Latvijas un ASV ziņu portālu publikāciju kvantitatīvā satura analīze un kritiskā diskursa analīze. Kritiskā diskursa analīzes pamatā ir lingvista Teina A. van Deika definētie analīzes soļi, no tiem izmantota diskursu tēmu noteikšana un vietējo nozīmju analīze. Tāpat pēc kritiskā diskursa analīzes veikšanas izdarīti secinājumi par diskursa aktoru pausto viedokli par kriptovalūtām. Pētījumā noskaidrots, ka kriptovalūtu nozarē iesaistīti aktori (visbiežāk kriptovalūtu investori un finanšu nozares eksperti) izmanto atšķirīgus diskursus. Visbiežāk diskurss par kriptovalūtām ir kriptovalūtas kā riskants un spekulatīvs ieguldījuma veids.

Bachelor’s work “Publications about cryptocurrencies on Latvian and US news portals in 2021 and 2022” explores the discourse in the publications of four news portals on cryptocurrencies in November 2021 and November 2022. News portals that are being analyzed are “Delfi.lv”, “Tvnet.lv”, CNN and “Fox News”. To achieve the goal of this research, quantitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis were used. With help of these research methods, it has been established, what is the discourse in publications about cryptocurrencies and what opinion is expressed by the actors of the discourse. The theoretical part of the research includes theoreticians' knowledge of discourse and critical discourse analysis, as well as describes Internet news portals and the development of cryptocurrencies.

In the empirical part, the quantitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis of Latvian and US news portal publications were done. Critical discourse analysis is based on the steps of analysis defined by the linguist Teun A. van Dijk: analysis of topics: semantic macrostructures and local meanings. After conducting the critical discourse analysis, conclusions were drawn about the opinions expressed by the discourse actors about cryptocurrencies. The study found that actors involved in the cryptocurrency industry (most often cryptocurrency investors and experts in the financial sector) use different discourses. The most common discourse about cryptocurrencies is cryptocurrencies as a risky and speculative form of investment.
