Eiropā veidoto pieaugušajiem paredzēto pilnmetrāžas animācijas filmu naratīva un stila analīze (2016-2022).

Abstract

Audiovizuālais saturs dominē mūsdienu medijus un tiešā veidā ietekmē mūsu viedokļus, zināšanas un vispārējo pasaules uztveri. Taču kāds ir šis audiovizuālais saturs? Animācija, kas tikai aug popularitātē, kā norāda “The Numbers” publicētie dati, tāpat bieži tiek nepatiesi uzskatīta par žanru bērniem, kas attiecīgi limitē animatoru spēju sasniegt savu mērķauditoriju. Taču tā kā animācija aug popularitātē, arī pieaugušo auditorija vairāk un vairāk pievēršas šim filmu un seriālu veidam, respektīvi, tā tiek uztverta nopietnāk un turpina iezīmēt sevi kā svarīgu daļu no kino industrijas arī ārpus bērnu auditorijas. Diemžēl, pat ņemot vērā augstāk minēto informāciju un pamanāmās tendences augošajam pieprasījumam pēc gan japāņu, gan amerikāņu animācijas, Eiropas animācija, īpaši mērķēta uz pieaugušo auditoriju, netiek pētīta. Respektīvi šis pētījums “Eiropā veidoto pieaugušajiem paredzēto pilnmetrāžas animācijas filmu naratīva un stila analīze” ir koncentrēts uz Eiropas pieaugušo animācijas pilnmetrāžas filmu izzināšanu gan to naratīva dizainā, gan to vizuālajā izskatā, jo, kā rakstījis Maršals Maklūens – “medijs ir vēstījums” un satura analīze notiek tikai pēc formas apzināšanas. Lai apzinātu tendences Eiropas pieaugušo animācijā, tika izvēlētas sešas animācijas filmas, kas atbilda izlases kritērijiem: “Mana dzīve kā Cukīnī” (“My Life as a Courgette” (2016)); “Maizes pelnītāja” (“The Breadwinner” (2017)); “Es pazaudēju savu ķermeni” (“I Lost My Body” (2018)); “Džosefs” (“Josep” (2020)); “Bēgt” (“Flee” (2021)) un “Mans laulību projekts” (“My Love Affair with Marriage” (2022)).

Audiovisual content dominates modern media and directly influences our opinions, knowledge, and overall perception of the world. But what is this audiovisual content? Animation, which is growing in popularity, as indicated by data published by "The Numbers," is often falsely considered a genre for children, thereby limiting animators' ability to reach their target audience. However, as animation gains popularity, the adult audience is increasingly turning to this form of films and series, perceiving it more seriously and recognizing it as an important part of the film industry beyond just children's audiences. Unfortunately, even considering the aforementioned information and the noticeable trend of increasing demand for both Japanese and American animation, European animation, especially targeting adult audiences, is not being researched. Consequently, this study, “Narrative and style analysis of animated feature films produced in Europe for adult audience (2016-2022)” focuses on exploring European full-length adult animation films, both in terms of their narrative design and visual appearance because, as Marshall McLuhan wrote, "the medium is the message," and content analysis can only take place after recognizing the form. To identify trends in European adult animation, six animated films that met the selection criteria were chosen: "My Life as a Courgette" (2016), "The Breadwinner" (2017), "I Lost My Body" (2018), "Josep" (2020), "Flee" (2021), and "My Love Affair with Marriage" (2022).
