Cilvēku ar invaliditāti portretējums Latvijas plašsaziņas līdzekļos: ziņu portālu LSM.lv, Delfi un TVNET satura analīze un portretēto viedokļi par reprezentāciju.

Abstract

Mūsdienās ikdiena nav iedomājama bez tehnoloģijām, interneta un arī medijiem. Mediji pilda vairākas funkcijas – izklaidē, informē un izglīto sabiedrību. Tie veido savu dienaskārtību, kas ietekmē to, kādu svarīguma pakāpi sabiedrībā ieņem kāds konkrēts temats. Viens no svarīgākajiem tematiem, ko mediji atspoguļo, ir ar invaliditāti saistīti jautājumi. Zināms, ka cilvēki ar invaliditāti aizvien piedzīvo diskrimināciju, saskaras ar nepieejamu vidi, nespēj atrast darbu, šī ir viena no sociālajām grupām, kas ir pakļauta atstumtībai. Nereti sabiedrība nezina kā komunicēt ar cilvēkiem, kuriem ir invaliditāte, kā palīdzēt un uzvesties. Šajā gadījumā mediju darbs ir ļoti svarīgs, visi cilvēki noveco, ar laiku parādās redzes, dzirdes vai kustību traucējumi, kas var novest līdz invaliditātei, tāpēc ikvienam cilvēkam jādomā par iekļaujošu vidi un diskriminācijas novēršanu. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā cilvēki ar invaliditāti lieto Latvijas ziņu portālus, kā šie portāli atspoguļo viņu problēmas un intereses un kā viņi vērtē šo atspoguļojumu. Pētījums sastāvēs no divām daļām – kvantitatīvās satura analīzes un intervijām. Šajā darbā tika pētīti tādi mediji kā LSM.lv, Delfi un TVNET, tika veiktas arī intervijas ar cilvēkiem, kuriem ir invaliditāte, lai noskaidrotu viņu pieredzi un viedokli par mediju piedāvāto saturu un invaliditātes jautājumu atspoguļojumu. Pētījumā iegūtie dati apstiprina, ka invaliditāte ir aktuāls temats un ka sabiedrībā par to trūkst informācija un nereti mediju veidotais saturs nostiprina sabiedrībā pastāvošos stereotipus. Mediju saturā trūkst daudzveidība un, pēc respondentu domām, tie cilvēkus ar invaliditāti atspoguļo pārāk uzspīlēti, ka šie cilvēki dara neiedomājamas lietas un varoņdarbus. Tomēr šie cilvēki dara to pašu ko pārējie, tikai citādāk. Lielākā daļa respondentu atzina, ka šāds saturs ir ļoti svarīgs.

Today, everyday life is unimaginable without technology, internet and media. The media perform several functions – entertain, inform and educate the society. They create their own agenda which affects how high degree of importance a certain subject will hold. One of the most important subjects which media portrays is disability and things related to it. It is widely known that people with disabilities face discrimination, inaccessible environment, difficulties to find a job – this is one of social groups which is subject to exclusion. Often the society does not know how to communicate, help or even behave around people with disabilities. In this case the media has a vital role. Every human ages, with time they can face visual, hearing or movement impairment which could lead to disability, that is the reason why every person must think about an inclusive environment and reduction of discrimination. The goal of this paper is to clarify how people with disabilities use latvian media, how the media portrays the difficulties and problems they face and how they evaluate this portrayal. This study consists of two parts – quantitative content analysis and interviews. In this paper media outlets LSM.lv, Delfi and TVNET were researched, interviews with people with disabilities were conducted to observe their experience and point of view about the content presented by media regarding disability. The data and results obtained in the study confirm that disability is a current topic, the society lacks information about this topic and often content created by the media reinforces the stereotypes existing in society regarding disability. The media content lacks diversity and according to respondents, people with disabilities are doing heroic and unimaginable things although they do exactly the same things as everyone else just differently. The majority of respondents came to a conclusion that this type of content is very important.
