Vācu ekspresionisma ietekme un intertekstualitāte seriālā “Babilona Berlīne”.

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Vācu ekspresionisma ietekme un intertekstualitāte seriālā Babilona Berlīne” tiek pētīts, kādas vācu ekspresionisma kino stilam raksturīgās iezīmes tiek izmantotas seriālā Babilona Berlīne (Babylon Berlin). Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā seriāls Babilona Berlīne iepazīstina skatītāju ar vācu ekspresionisma tēmām, raksturīgajām iezīmēm, un kā tas ieplūst seriāla darbībā. Teorētisko daļu veido piecas nodaļas. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek aplūkots vācu ekspresionisms kā kino stilistiskais virziens, kino stila jēdziens, kā arī vācu ekspresionisma kino iezīmes un svarīgākie darbi. Otrajā nodaļā tiek aplūkots vācu kino mūsdienās. Trešajā nodaļā tiek apkopota informācija par seriālu vēsturi un seriālu attīstību mūsdienās, kā arī par seriāliem Vācijas kontekstā. Ceturtajā nodaļā tiek aplūkots intertekstualitātes jēdziens. Piektā nodaļa dod ieskatu par kino valodas elementiem - naratīvu, mizanscēnu, skaņu, kameras darbu un montāžu, - kuri darba pētnieciskajā daļā tiek izmantoti seriāla analīzē. Pētnieciskajā daļā tiek izmantota kvalitatīvās kontenanalīzes metode, kas iekļauj naratīva un stilistisko analīzi. Seriāls Babilona Berlīne tiek analizēts pēc noteiktajām kino valodas kategorijām un rezultāti tiek pierakstīti tabulās. Lai noskaidrotu, kādas vācu ekspresionisma iezīmes un intertekstualitāte ir redzamas seriālā Babilona Berlīne, tiks analizēta pirmās sezonas pirmā sērija, kas atklāj skatītājam seriāla stilistisko, naratīva struktūru. No otrās un trešās sezonas pēc nejaušās izlases metodes tiks izvēlētas no katras sezonas pa vienai sērijai. No trešās sezonas tiks analizēta arī pirmā sērija, jo šī sērija ir principiāla visam seriālam, šajā sērijā ir atrodami daudzi intertekstualitātes piemēri no vācu ekspresionisma laikiem. No pēdējās sezonas tiks analizēta sezonas pēdējā sērija, jo tā ir pagaidām seriāla noslēdzošā sērija. Darba noslēgumā tiek atbildēts uz jautājumu: Kādas vācu ekspresionisma stilam (kino) raksturīgās iezīmes tiek izmantotas seriālā Babilona Berlīne (Babylon Berlin)?

The bachelor thesis " The influence of German expressionism and intertextuality in the TV Show Babylon Berlin “ explores which features of the German Expressionist film style are used in the TV Show Babylon Berlin. The aim of the research is to find out how Babylon Berlin introduces the audience to the themes and characteristics of German Expressionism and how this is infused into the action of the series. The theoretical part consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with German Expressionism as a stylistic movement in cinema, the concept of film style, and the characteristics and key works of German Expressionist cinema. The second chapter gives an insight into German cinema today. The third chapter summarises the history and development of serials today, as well as serials in the German context. Chapter 4 deals with the concept of intertextuality. Chapter 5 gives an insight into the elements of cinematic language that are used in the analysis of the TV series in the research part of the thesis. The research part uses the method of qualitative contenanalysis, which includes narrative and stylistic analysis. The series Babylon Berlin is analysed according to the established categories of cinematic language and the results are tabulated. In order to find out which features of German Expressionism and intertextuality are visible in Babylon Berlin, the first episode of the first season will be analysed, which reveals the stylistic, narrative structure of the series to the viewer. From the second and third seasons, one episode from each season will be randomly selected. From the third season, the first series will also be analysed, as this series is fundamental for the whole series, and many examples of intertextuality from the German Expressionist period can be found in this series. The last episode of the season will be analysed from the last season, as it is the final episode of the series for the time being. The thesis concludes by answering the question: which features of the German Expressionist style (cinema) are used in Babylon Berlin?
