Conservative and Surgical Treatment of Obesity: Options, Efficacy and Outcomes

Abstract

Šajā literatūras apskatā tika pētītas pašreizējās aptaukošanās ārstēšanas iespējas, to efektivitāte un ārstēšanas rezultāti. Konservatīvās ārstēšanas metodes ietver dzīvesveida izmaiņas un dažādus farmakoloģiskos risinājumus. Ķirurģiskās metodes ietver dažādas bariatriskās operācijas, no kurām mūsdienās visbiežāk tiek izmantotas kuņģa apvedceļa un piedurknes gastrektomijas metodes. Šī darba mērķis bija pārskatīt aptaukošanās ārstēšanas iespējas un salīdzināt konservatīvās un ķirurģiskās metodes efektivitāti.

In this literature review was researched the current treatment options of obesity. Their efficacy and treatment outcomes were compared. Conservative treatment methods include lifestyle modifications and various pharmacological solutions. Surgical methods include variety of bariatric operations of which most used today are gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy techniques. Aim of this work was to review the treatment options of obesity and to compare the efficacy between conservative and surgical methods.
