Mākslas terapeitu prakses organizācija ar bērnu klientu/pacientu grupu Latvijā

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis: noskaidrot, kā Latvijā tiek organizēta mākslas terapeitu prakse ar bērnu klientu/pacientu grupu. Pētījuma jautājumi: 1) Kāda ir praktizējošu mākslas terapeitu aprakstītā prakses organizācija ar bērnu klientu/pacientu grupu Latvijā? 2) Kādi normatīvie akti mākslas terapeitiem jāņem vērā organizējot praksi ar bērnu klientu/pacientu grupu Latvijā un kā tie nosaka tās organizēšanu? 3) Kā praktiski tiek organizēta mākslas terapeitu prakse ar bērnu klientu/pacientu grupu Latvijā dažādās mākslas terapeitu darba vidēs?

Pētījuma metode izvēlēta balstoties pragmatisma pieejā un secīgais izpētes jauktā pētījuma dizains ietvēra divus pētījuma posmus: pirmajā posmā ievākti kvalitatīvi, otrajā – kvantitatīvi dati. Pirmā posma 1. apakšposmā veikta fokusgrupas diskusija un intervijas ar praktizējošiem mākslas terapeitiem (n=6). 2. apakšposmā veikta dokumentu analīze (normatīvie akti, n=41). Kvalitatīvajiem datiem veikta tematiskā analīze. Balstoties uz pirmā posma rezultātiem izstrādāta aptauja “Mākslas terapeitu profesionālā darbība Latvijā”, kuras 3. daļa attiecās uz šo pētījumu. Ar aptauju iegūti kvantitatīvi dati no praktizējošiem mākslas terapeitiem (n=46). Aptaujas dati analizēti izmantojot aprakstošo statistiku un kvalitatīvo kontentanalīzi.

Pētījuma rezultāti ļauj izdarīt secinājumus par to, kā Latvijā tiek organizēta mākslas terapeitu prakse ar bērniem. Fokusgrupā un intervijās iegūtie rezultāti liecināja, ka darba vide ietekmē prakses ar bērniem organizāciju. Dokumentu analīze deva priekšstatu par tiesisko regulējumu, kas attiecas uz darbu ar bērniem dažādās darba vidēs. Dokumentu analīzes rezultātā izdalītās tēmas liecināja par bērnu klientu/pacientu grupas prioritāro statusu un mākslas terapeita atbildību bērnu tiesību aizsardzības nodrošināšanā, kas paredz arī specifiskas prasības mākslas terapeitam kā profesionālim. Aptaujā tika noskaidrots kā mākslas terapeiti darbā ar bērniem nodrošina bērnu tiesību aizsardzību un kā tiek organizēts darbs ar bērniem dažādās darba vidēs – veselības aprūpē, sociālajā aprūpē, izglītībā, privātpraksē un nevalstiskajās organizācijās. Pētījuma rezultāti dod vispārēju ieskatu mākslas terapeitu prakses ar bērniem organizācijā un var kalpot par pamatu turpmākajiem pētījumiem. Rezultāti, attiecībā uz specifiskām prasībām mākslas terapeitiem darbā ar bērniem, var rosināt pilnveidot mākslas terapeitu studiju programmu, kā arī noteikt papildus sertifikācijas prasības tiem mākslas terapeitiem, kas strādā ar bērniem.

The purpose of this study was to find out how the practice of the art therapists working with children client/patient group in Latvia is organized. Research questions: 1) How do the practicing art therapists describe the organization of their arts therapies practice with children in Latvia? 2) Which laws and regulations apply to the organization of the art therapists practice with children and how do they regulate it? 3) How is the practice of the art therapists working with children organized practically in various work settings?

Methodology of the research is based on pragmatism approach and the exploratory sequential mixed methods design was used. Qualitative data collection included two sub-stages. First, the focus group discussion and interviews with the practicing art therapists (n=6) were conducted, then the document analysis was done (laws and regulations, n=41). Thematic analysis was used for data analysis. Results from the qualitative phase were used in the survey development for the quantitative data collection. Quantitative data was then obtained from the practicing art therapists working with children (n=46). Data was analysed using descriptive statistics methods and qualitative content analysis.

Results shows how the practice of the art therapists working with children client/patient group in Latvia is organized. Findings from the focus group and interviews reveals that work setting has an impact on the organization of the art therapists practice with children. The document analysis gives an idea of how the laws and regulations apply to the practice of the art therapists working with children in various work settings. Themes from the document analysis shows the priority of the children client/patient group and the responsibility of the art therapists in protecting the children’s rights. There are specific professional requirements for the art therapists who work with children in Latvia. Survey findings shows how the art therapists provide protection of the children’s rights in their practice and how the practice of the art therapists working with children is organised in various work settings – healthcare, social care, education, private practice and non-governmental organizations. Results can be a starting point for future research. Findings concerning specific professional requirements of the art therapists working with children can be used to improve the programme of the art therapist’s studies as well as the requirements for the certification of art therapists working with children.
