Uz mūziku balstīta datu ievākšanas protokola izstrāde 8-11 gadus vecu bērnu kognitīvo spēju izvērtēšanai

Abstract

Anotācija Maģistra darba mērķis bija veikt uz mūziku balstītas datu ievākšanas procedūras izstrādi 8 – 11 gadus vecu bērnu kognitīvo spēju izvērtēšanai. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tika sniegta informācija par kognitīvajām spējām - indivīda garīgiem procesiem un funkcijām, tādām kā uzmanība, atmiņa, valoda, domāšana, - kas palīdz uztvert, apstrādāt un pielietot jaunu informāciju, risinot dažādas ikdienas un abstraktas problēmas. Īpaši tika aplūkotas kognitīvo spēju atšķirības praktiski veseliem bērniem un bērniem ar mācīšanās traucējumiem. Pētījums tika veikts četros posmos: pētījuma pirmajā posmā ar psiholoģijas jomas eksperta iesaisti tika noskaidroti kritēriji 8 – 11 gadus vecu praktiski veselu bērnu kognitīvo spēju izvērtēšanai. Otrajā posmā kopā ar kolēģēm Rūtu Ozoliņu un Varvaru Muhejevu tika izveidota darba grupa, modificētas datu ievākšanas aktivitātes un instrukcijas, izveidots protokols un veikts pilotpētījums. Trešajā posmā ar mūzikas terapijas neatkarīgo ekspertu (n=3) iesaisti tika izvērtēta datu ievākšanas aktivitāšu un instrukciju atbilstība kognitīvo spēju izvērtēšanai 8 – 11 gadus veciem bērniem, tika noteikts MT neatkarīgo vērtētāju iekšējās saskaņotības koeficents. Pētījuma ceturtajā posmā tika īstenots pētījums (n=60) un veikta ievākto datu savstarpējā validēšana (cross – validation), noteikts vērtētāju iekšējās saskaņotības koeficents, reakcijas un diskriminācijas indekss un noskaidrots, vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības starp grupām. Izdarot secinājumus par iegūtajiem rezultātiem, autore secina, ka: 1. lai izstrādātu datu ievākšanas protokolu, tika izveidots detalizēti aprakstīts aktivitāšu komplekts ar 4 aktivitātēm, kas vienā izvērtēšanas sesijā pārbauda 22 kognitīvo spēju kritērijus no 6 apakšskalām. 2. datu ievākšanas procedūra ir atbilstoša 21 kognitīvo spēju kritēriju izvērtēšanai, savukārt 1 kritērija izvērtēšanai nepieciešams precizēt izveidoto datu ievākšanas procedūru. 3. tika noskaidrots, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības starp 8 – 11 gadus veciem praktiski veseliem bērniem un bērniem ar mācīšanās traucējumiem. Autore rekomendē uzlabot aktivitātes, kuras pēc ekspertu viedokļiem nepieciešams pilnveidot, izveidot video formāta pamācību, lai pirms izvērtēšanas sesijas veikšanas būtu iespējams detalizēti iepazīties ar protokolu un nodrošināt instrukciju precīzu izpildi, pārbaudīt datu ievākšanas procedūru 8 – 11 gadus vecu bērnu kognitīvo spēju izvērtēšanai lielākā izlasē, procedūras pārbaudi veikt neatkarīgiem pētniekiem.

Abstract The goal of this work is to develop a data gathering procedure based on music for the assessment of cognitive abilities of 8 - 11 year old children. Information regarding cognitive abilities, i.e., a persons mental processes and functions, such as attention, memory, language, thinking, which allow to comprehend, process and use new information by solving various everyday and abstract problems was described in the theoretical part of the work. Difference of cognitive abilities between healthy children and children with learning disabilities was particulary looked into. The research was conducted in four stages. In Stage 1, the criteria for evaluating the cognitive abilities of 8 – 11 year old healthy children was determined together with a psychology expert. In Stage 2, a working group, modified data gathering activities and instructions and a procedure was created and a pilot study conducted together with colleagues Rūta Ozoliņa and Varvara Muhejeva. Stage 3 was performed together with independent music therapy experts (n=3). During this stage, the conformity of the data gathering activities and instructions for evaluating 8 – 11 year old children was evaluated and the art therapy content validity index was determined. In Stage 4, the study was performed (N=60) and the cross-validation of data was tested. Additionally, the content validity index, the item-difficulty index and the item-discrimination index were calculated and it was checked whether there are any statistically significant differences between the groups. Main results 1. A data gathering procedure was developed, in addition to a detailed set of activities with 4 activities which check criteria for 22 cognitive abilities from 6 categories in one session. 2. The content validity index was in the range from SVI = 0.66 till SVI = 1 3. The item-difficulty index was in the range from 1.33-2.87 and the item-discrimination index was in the range from 0.2-0.7 4. it was determined that there are statistically significant differences between 8 - 11 year old healthy children and children with learning disabilities (U = 69, p < 0,001). The author concludes that the developed data gathering procedure is appropriate for evaluating criteria for 21 cognitive abilities, however, it is required to clarify the data gathering procedure for the remaining criterion. Activities, which according to experts require adjustment, need to be improved, a video tutorial should be created so that it would be possible to get acquainted with the procedure before the session and ensure that the instructions are followed precisely, the data gathering procedure for evaluating the cognitive abilities of 8 - 11 year old children should be tested with a larger sample, and independent experts should conduct the verification of the procedure.
