Abstract: | Novērtēt ātras augšžokļa paplašināšanās efektivitāti Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrom (OSAS) ārstēšanā. The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of rapid maxillary expansion in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). Electronic databases were searched systematically: Science Direct, EBSCOhost, PubMed, and ProQuest. The results from the meta-analysis show an overall reduction in AHI after RME therapy. Conclusion: After the RME treatment, the sleep quality of children with OSAS improves making RME therapy an appropriate alternative treatment option for these patients. The sleep efficacy and overall sleep time increases. |
