Abstract: Kvalifikācijas darba tēma: Fasciālās stiepšanās (iņ jogas) ietekme uz cilvēku trauksmes līmeni.
Topic of the qualification paper: The effect of fascial stretching (yin yoga) on a persons anxiety level. Aim of the study: To study the effect of yoga on the level of anxiety in humans, to find out how yoga affects the extent of situational anxiety and whether there is a change in anxiety as a feature of the condition. Research hypothesis: Yin yoga (fascial stretching) reduces the level of situational anxiety both immediately after the session and in the long run, but does not affect the level of anxiety as a feature. Research methods: Quantitative experimental study based on "State-Trait Anxiety Inventory" developed by Charles D. Spielberger and colleagues {State-Trait anxiety Inventory, Form Y; Self Evaluation Ouestionnaire ", Spielberger, Gorsuch, Lushene, Vagg & Jacobs, 1983), adaptation in Latvian (Adapted by D. Škuškovnika, 2004). The study involved 30 women: 20 in the experimental group and 10 in the control group. State anxiety (STAI Y-1) and Trait anxiety (STAI Y-2) were identified in all participants prior to the study. The study group participated in 10 yin yoga classes (1 session per week), before and after each session the State anxiety (STAI Y-1) was measured. After 10 weeks, both groups re-completed both parts of the questionnaire, re-defining both State anxiety and Trait anxiety. Results and conclusions: In the study group there are statistically significant changes (decrease) in both - State anxiety and Trait anxiety, but in the control group State anxiety indicators do not change, but Trait anxiety increase, which can be explained by the current restrictions due to Covid-19. This study confirms that yin yoga not only reduces State anxiety in the short term, (after one class), but also can reduce Trait anxiety by having a positive effect on a person's long-term psycho-emotional health. The SPSS program (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 27.00) was used for statistical analysis, using descriptive statistics and nonparametric tests.
