Pacientu zināšanas par smaganas saslimšanas risku

Abstract

Kvalifikācijas darba tēma ir “Pacientu zināšanas par smaganu saslimšanu risku”. Šī tēma mūsdienās ir aktuāla, jo cilvēki neapzinās riskus, kas var ietekmēt smaganu saslimšanas, jo smaganu saslimšana var būt asimptomātiska un cilvēks tās esamību var nepamanīt vairākus gadus. Darbā tiek apskatītas šādas tēmas – kas un kādas ir smaganu saslimšanas; smēķēšana un smaganu saslimšana; neveselīgs uzturs un smaganu saslimšana; smaganu saslimšanu ietekme uz sirds un asinsvadu slimībām un cukura diabētu Darba mērķis ir izpētīt respondentu zināšanas par smaganu saslimšanas risku, zināšanas par smaganu saslimšanas ietekmi uz citām sistemātiskām saslimšanām. Darba nobeigumā veiktie secinājumi atspoguļo to, ka daļa respondentu nav informēti, kādas ir smaganu saslimšanas un tās neizprot. Respondenti apzinās, ka smēķēšana ietekmē smaganu saslimšanu, bet nepietiekamā līmenī izprot par diabēta, sirds un asinsvadu slimību ietekmi uz smaganu saslimšanām. Daļa respondentu neizprot neveselīgā uztura ietekmi uz smaganu veselību, viena piektā daļa no respondentiem nekad nav apmeklējuši zobu higiēnistu, kas izskaidro vienu no iemesliem, kāpēc ir nepietiekamas zināšanas par smaganu saslimšanu risku.

The topic of the qualification work is "Patients' knowledge about the risk of gum disease". This topic is relevant nowadays because people are not aware of the risks that can affect gum disease, as gum disease can be asymptomatic and a person may not notice its presence for several years. The themes covered in this paper are: what and how gum disease occurs; smoking and gum disease; unhealthy diet and gum disease; the impact of gum disease on cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus The aim of this paper is to investigate respondents' knowledge about the risk of gum disease, the impact of gum disease on other systemic diseases. The findings at the end of the paper reflect that some of the respondents are not aware of gum diseases and do not understand them. Respondents are aware that smoking has an impact on gum disease, but have insufficient understanding of the impact of diabetes and cardiovascular disease on gum disease. Some respondents do not understand the impact of an unhealthy diet on gum health, and one fifth of respondents have never visited a dental hygienist, which explains one of the reasons for the lack of knowledge about the risk of gum disease.
