Background: My scientific paper will gather knowledge about malignant manifestations of the skin and their relation between UV radiation by reviewing scientific literature. Aim: To understand types of skin malignancies, metastasis, and their connection between genetical and devourment factors. Focusing on carcinogenic effect of UV light, physiological process leading to skin cancer and their clinical manifestations. There’s diversity of skin cancer manifestations at molecular level and there’s direct link between UV light; - such as SCC, BCC, the deadliest being melanoma. There is a lot of focus on sun exposure during holidays, and increased tendency to tan. Those changes promote exposure to UV radiation increasing malignant manifestations. However, we may not exclude the genetic aspect of skin malignancies. Having this thought, the paper will gather increased knowledge of malignant skin manifestations, the physiological mechanisms, and their connection between triggering factors. This will help you gain a general understanding of cancerous skin development, how it may present and most importantly outcome of the disease. Hypothesis: There is a significant correlation between UV solar radiation and increased likelihood of certain skin malignant manifestations. Method: By reviewing scientific literature, research articles and a clinical patient case Results: When comparing the results of different studies, it became highly evident that UVlight exposure during early age, lack of preventative measures taken by the present patients, their history of skin malignancies in family, were high risk candidates to have developed skin cancer. Many skin tumours were also found in elderly patients who also reviewed their history of potential risk factors they were exposed to. Other patients with current diagnosed skin cancers had an occupational history from the past, in which they revealed UV-exposure. Immunosuppression along with UV- light had a significant role in SCC development in several patients especially with organ transplantation. Conclusion: After reviewing scientific literature, it’s quite evident that UV light exposure causes greater risk of developing skin cancer. Therefore, it’s vital to reduce sun exposure during early childhood, by taking preventative measures and increased educational awareness of UV-light threats. Hence many studies reveal that patient with skin malignancies have long term UV exposure at younger age. Primary skin tumours are associated with long term UV exposure, while in metastasis it doesn’t have any correlation with UV-light.
