Abstract: Maģistra darba nosaukums: Laboratoriski nosakāmu minerālvielu iespējamā nepietiekamība sievietēm pirms menopauzes periodā: sistemātisks pārskats.
Title of Master's Work: The potential scarcity of Laboratorial identifiable minerals in pre-menopausal women: a systematic review. Problem: Woman maturation life cycles are affected by hormonal action. Each phase of life is characterised by problems and preventive measures. The time before the menopause is very important because it may affect the future quality of life of a woman and it is important to supply everything needed to the body at this time so that it contributes to the preservation of the woman's well-being even after menopause. Job objective: Explore the potential scarcity of laboratory-detectable minerals in women before menopause. Job Tasks: 1. Investigate the laboratory detection capabilities of minerals and the factors affecting the results. 2. Find out which minerals are most commonly lacking before menopausal women.3. Provide practical recommendations. Materials and methods: A systematic international literature review was carried out between 2011 and 2021. The study was selected in three databases following predefined keywords. The report included randomized controlled reports, meta-analyses, cohort phishes and literature views that looked at minerals such as iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, cadmium, manganese and lead and their effects on pre-menopausal women. Results and conclusions: eleven studies were included in the Literature Review which met all the inclusion criteria. In pre-menopausal women, the most common mineral in shortages, or insufficient amounts, is iron, zinc and magnesium. It is laboratory-relevant to detect iron levels in the body, but it is appropriate to use dietary diaries for the determination of other minerals, since their lack may be subclinical and biomarkers may not show their deficiency. Iron deficiency is also associated with increased accumulation of heavy metals in the body. In future, it would be necessary to develop studies with the specific population in order to determine the laboratory reference intervals for trace elements for adapted women in Latvia and to establish an effective screening method for the timely detection and correction of mineral deficits.
