Resistant Hypertension - A Clinical Case

Abstract

Rezistenta hipertensija ir klīnisks fenomens, kura ārstēšana nav viegla ne ģimenes ārstam, ne speciālistam, tādēļ ar sliktu prognozi. Šis fenomens biežāk tiek novērots pacienteim gados. Lielākajā daļā gadījumu pacientam bez rezistentās hipertensijas ir arī citas blakus saslimšanas, kā dēļ agrīna diagnostika ir sarežģīta. Tāpat arī pieaug pacientu nelīdzestība medikamentu lietošanā.Joprojām risinās diskusijas par ieguvumiem no revaskularizācijas terapijas salīdzinājumā ar medikamentozu terapiju nieru artēriju stenozes gadījumā.

Resistant hypertension is a common clinical phenomenon that has been difficult to treat for both family doctors and specialists and therefore it has a poor prognosis. It has been challenging because it is mainly seen in adult hypertensive patients. In most of the cases presented, resistant hypertension is associated with other comorbid conditions, making early diagnosis difficult. Non- adherence to medication is also on the rise, necessitating more research in this area. Individuals benefitting from revascularization in renal artery stenosis as reason for resistant hypertension when compared with medical therapy is a matter of discussion.
