Women's Subjective Experience of Tuberculosis Related Stigma: A Qualitative Study at Kollam, India

Abstract

Šajā pētījumā tiek pētīta sieviešu tuberkulozes slimnieku stigmatizācija Kollam, Indijā, kā arī izprasts tuberkulozes kultūras konteksts Kollam sabiedrībā. Vairāki faktori, piemēram, dzimums, rase, kultūra ietekmē stigmatizāciju, Indija ir plaša valsts ar daudzām kultūrām, un senas prakses, kas var ļoti ietekmēt tuberkulozes stigmatizāciju, šajā pētījumā tiek pieliktas pūles, lai izprastu kultūras ietekmi uz tuberkulozes stigmatizāciju un stigmatizācijas pieredzi, ar ko saskaras sievietes, kam ir tuberkuloze.

This study investigates the stigmatization experiences of female tuberculosis patients in Kollam, India, and to understand the cultural context of tuberculosis in the society of Kollam. Several factors like gender, race, culture influence stigmatization, India is a vast country with multiple cultures and ancient practices this may highly influence the stigmatization of tuberculosis, in this study efforts are made to understand the cultural influences on tuberculosis stigmatization and the experiences of stigmatization faced by female TB patients.
