dc.description.abstractPētījuma mērkis: izpētīt dazādu veģetāro Zobu pastu ekstraktu antimikrobiālo iedarbību pret Streptococcus Mutans (SM) un Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (PA). Metariāli un metodes: pētījuma grupa sastav no 4 veģetārām Zobu pastām, katra ar savu noteikto galveno augu aktraktu, piemēram: Punica Granatum Pericarp Extract (PGPE), Bromelain, Akarkara (Anacyclus pyrethrum), Miswak (Salvadora Persica). 0.2% Hlorheksidīna gēls (CHX) tika izmantots kā kontroles grupa. Inhibēšanas aktivitāte tika pētīta ar agara disku difūzijas metodi, izmantojot 12 Agara plates priekš PA un 12 Triplikāzes sojas agara plates priekš SA. Inhibēšanas zonas platums tika mērīts manuāli ar mikrometru. Rezultāti tika analizēti IBM SPSS Statistics. Rezultāti: visas petāmās grupas pastas rāda būtiski lielāku biofilmas formācijas inhibēšanos PA nekā controles grupa. PGPE rāda lalāko rezultātu (0,3883 cm) par Bromelain (0,3508 cm), Miswak (0,3250 cm), Akarkara (0,3333 cm), un CHX (0,1167 cm) ar PA. Bromelain rāda labāko rezultātu (0,3567 cm) par PGPE (0,3267 cm), un kontroles CHX (0,2425 cm) ar SM. Miswak un Akarkara nerāda inhibēšanas zonu ar SM. Secinājumi: Visi aģenti rāda antimikrobiālo potenciālu pret Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. Punica Granatum Pericarp ekshraktam ir labāk antimikrobiāla iedarbība pret PA. Bromelain un PGPE arī rāda antimikrobiālo potenciālu pret Streptococcus Mutans, bet Bromelain tas in lielāks.lv-LV
dc.description.abstractAim of the study: The study was aimed to investigate the antimicrobial potential of various herbal agents of vegetarian toothpastes against Streptococcus Mutans (SM) and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (PA) in Vitro. Material and Methods: Test group contained 4 Vegetarian toothpastes, each containing different main herbal agent, such as: Punica Granatum Pericarp Extract (PGPE), Bromelain, Akarkara (Anacyclus pyrethrum), Miswak (Salvadora Persica). 0,2% Chrorhexydine gel (CHX) was used as a control group. Inhibitory activity against SM and PA was examined via agar disc diffusion method using 12 Agar plates for PA and 12 Trypticase soy agar plates for SA. The thickness of the inhibition zones was measured manually by micrometer. The results were analysed in IBM SPSS Statistics. Results: All members of the test group have showed significally higher biofilm formation inhibition result in PA than the control group. PGPE showed better result (0,3883 cm) than Bromelain (0,3508 cm), Miswak (0,3250 cm), Akarkara (0,3333 cm), and CHX (0,1167 cm) in PA. Bromelain showed higher biofilm formation inhibition (0,3567 cm) than PGPE (0,3267 cm), and control CHX (0,2425 cm) in SM. There was no sigh of inhibition zone in Miswak and Akarkara in SM. Conclusions: All the agents expressed antimicrobial effects against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. PGPE has better antimicrobial activity against PA. Bromelain and PGPE have antimicrobial effects against Streptococcus Mutans as well. Bromelain showed better antimicrobical activity against SA.en-UK
