Mutes profilakse onkoloģiskiem pacientiem

Abstract

Kvalifikācijas darba tēma šobrīd ir aktuāla visa pasaulē, jo pateicoties tam, ka medicīna ir ļoti attīstījusies un turpina attīstīties, aizvien vairāk pasaulē tiek daudz ātrāk diagnosticētas onkoloģiskas saslimšanas. Tas nozīmē, ka onkologisko pacientu skaits palielinās, taču ja diagnoze ir veikta agrīni tad tas ievērojami uzlabo iespējas izdzīvot. Onkoloģiskas ārstēšanas metodes ir dažādas, taču tas nebūt nenozīmē, ka ir iespēja izvairīties no komplikācijām mutē. Zobārstniecības speciālistiem ir jābūt onkomodriem, jo daudzas vēža formas var diagnosticēt agrīni mutes dobumā. Zobārstiem un zobu higiēnistiem ir jābūt pietiekoši zinošiem, lai spētu atrast labāko risinājumu dažāda smaguma komplikāciju mazināšanai mutē katram indivīdam. Ir svarīgi saprast, ka šādi pacienti ir psihoemocionāli nestabili un ļoti bieži ar noslieci uz depresiju, tādēļ attiecīgajam speciālistam ir jāpiemīt empātijai pret saviem pacientiem. Pētījuma mērķis bija uzzināt vai Latvijā praktizējošie zobārstniecības speciālisti ir vienlīdzīgi zinoši darbā ar onkoloģiskiem pacientiem.

The topic of the qualification paper is currently relevant all over the world, because since medicine is very advanced and continues to develop, more and more oncological diseases are being diagnosed much faster in the world. This means that the number of oncology patients increases, but if the diagnosis is made early then it significantly improves the chances of survival. Oncological treatments vary but this does not mean that it is possible to avoid complications in the mouth. Dental specialists need to be vigilant because many forms of cancer can be diagnosed early in the oral cavity. Dentists and dental hygienists need to be knowledgeable enough to be able to find the best solution to reduce the severity of complications in the mouth for everyone. It is important to understand that these patients are psycho-emotionally unstable and very often prone to depression, so the specialist should have empathy for their patients. The aim of the study was to find out whether dental specialists practicing in Latvia are equally knowledgeable in practice with oncology patients.
