Mutes profilakse senioriem

Abstract

Darbs veltīts senioru mutes veselības problēmu izpētei, to iemesliem un sekām. Mūsdienās vēljoprojām senioru mutes veselība ir aktuāls temats, jo liela daļa senioru dzīvo Sociālajos aprūpes centros, kur mutes veselības aprūpe nav pietiekama, lai seniori kvalitatīvi spētu parūpēties par mutes veselību. Arī senioriem, kuriem ir pašiem sava dzīvesvieta, ne vienmēr piemīt funkcionālas spējas, lai pilnvērtīgi parūpētos par savu mutes veselību. Darbā apskatīti šādi temati: ar vecumu saistītas izmaiņas senioru mutes veselībā, hiposalivācija, kserostomija un tās izplatība, seniori un halitoze, dedzinošas mutes sindroms, uztura nozīme senioru mutes veselībā, zobu kariess senioriem, seniori un zobu protēzes, Sociālā aprūpes centra atbildība. Darba procesā veikts pētījums par senioru mutes veselības stavokli. Pētījuma rezultāti atspoguļoja senioru mutes veselības stāvokli, medikamentu lietošanu ikdienā, sausas mutes sindroma pazīmes un higiēnista apmeklējuma regularitāti senioru vidū. Darba nobeigumā izdarīti secinājumi un būtiskākais no tiem ir tas, ka medikamenti atstāj negatīvu ietekmi uz senioru mutes veselību, tajā skaitā veicina kserostomiju. Turklāt Sociālajiem aprūpes centriem būtu jānodrošina atbilstoša mutes veselības aprūpe senioriem, kā arī jākontrolē medikamentu lietošana ikdienā.

The work is dedicated to the study of senior oral health problems, their causes and consequences. Nowadays, the oral health of seniors is still a topical issue, as a large part of seniors live in Social Care Centers, where oral health care is not sufficient for seniors to be able to take good care of oral health. Even seniors, who have their own place of residence, do not always have the functional capacity to take full care of their oral health. The following topics are covered in the work: age-related changes in senior oral health, hyposalivation, xerostomia and its prevalence, seniors and halitosis, burning mouth syndrome, the role of nutrition in senior oral health, dental caries for seniors, seniors and dentures, Social Care Center responsibility. A study on the oral health status of seniors has been conducted in the course of the work. The results of the study reflected the oral health status of seniors, daily medication use, signs of dry mouth syndrome, and the regularity of hygienist visits among seniors. Conclusions are made at the end of the work and the most important of them is that the drugs have a negative effect on the oral health of seniors, including the promotion of xerostomia. In addition, Social Care Centers should provide adequate oral health care for seniors and monitor the daily use of medicines.
