Management of HPV cervical positive women and individuals with cervix is one of the main issues faced in cervical cancer screening today. The aim of this study is to closely examine different methods that have been proposed in various research papers in the attempt to solve this problem. Management of HPV cervical positive women and individuals with cervix has become an even bigger problem since the implementation of primary HPV screening, which has led to an increased detection of both transient and persistent positive HPV infections. As a consequence, many patients have been over-diagnosed and over-treated ,creating a financial burden and causing emotional and physical discomfort in many patients. I chose to write about this topic as a literature review. During my study of various scientific articles, I discovered that the triage methods, several of them which will be further explained in this review, proposed for management of HPV cervical women and individuals with cervix depend on various factors such as local resources and health care infrastructures. These factors need to be taken into consideration when choosing triage of HPV cervical positive patients. The studies on this topic compared the triage methods to each other and came to the same conclusion that the suggested methods,on their own or combined, have the potential of increasing specificity of a positive cervical HPV test result, thereby alleviating the management of HPV cervical positive patients and consequently reducing costs and any emotional and physical stress that comes with the diagnosis of HPV positive.lv-LV
