Abstract: Nevalstisku organizāciju sektorā veiktie pētījumi liecina, ka, mainoties iedzīvotāju paradumiem un vērtībām, samazinās brīvprātīgā darba veicēju skaits, tādēļ ir grūtības realizēt sabiedrībai nozīmīgas sociāla atbalsta aktivitātes, kuru īstenošanai nepieciešama regulāra brīvprātīgo iesaistīšanās. Vienlaikus secināts, ka dažām no komunikācijas intervencēm nepieciešama stratēģiski vadīta preventīva plānošana, lai pilnveidotu to īstenošanas rezultātā sasniegtās uzvedības maiņas pielietošanu ilgtermiņā. Darba ietvaros izteiktie priekšlikumi palīdzēs NVO veiksmīgi organizēt savu komunikāciju ar mērķauditorijām, piesaistot brīvprātīgos organizācijas plānoto pasākumu realizācijā.
Researches conducted by non-governmental organizations` (NGO) sector show that as the habits and values of the population change, the number of volunteers decreases, therefore it is more difficult to implement social support activities important to society, the implementation of which requires regular involvement of volunteers. In addition, there is a competition between NGOs and public authorities for volunteering, therefore it is important to pay attention to the quality of communication campaigns. In order to achieve the goal of behavior change - to attract residents to do voluntary work, communication management must be of high quality, based on theories, including appropriate communication interventions. The topic of the Thesis is “Communication Practice of Latvian Red Cross for Recruitment of Volunteers: Case Study of a Communication Campaign “My 100 hours of voluntary work for Latvia”. The aim of the study is to determine the behavioral change in the communication campaign of the communication intervention of society “Latvian Red Cross” to attract volunteers. In order to achieve the set goal, a case study was conducted using quantitative and qualitative data acquisition and analysis methods: document analysis was performed, including information on the association's strategy and communication campaign interventions, publicity measures and results, as well as an interview with management and campaign participants - survey of involved volunteers. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implemented campaign used 8 components of the social marketing mix “P”, focusing on four of them - innovative additional product selection, variety of advertising activities according to the place, use of several communication channels and increasing their number by attracting partners. The analysis shows that the campaign also used all three components of Fog's behavior model - motivation, ability and triggers, the simultaneous use of which in communication, according to the results of the survey, promoted a change in the behavior of the target audience. At the same time, it is concluded that some of the communication interventions require strategically managed preventive planning in order to improve the long-term application of the behavior change achieved as a result of their implementation. The proposals put forward in the Thesis will help NGOs to successfully organise their communication with the target audiences by attracting volunteers for their planned activities.
