Komunikācijas barjeru analīze Rīgas Tehniskās universitātes trešo valstu studentu integrācijā Latvijas sabiedrībā

Abstract

ANOTĀCIJA Maģistra darbā “Komunikācijas barjeru analīze RTU trešo valstu studentu integrēšanā Latvijas sabiedrībā” tika aplūkotas komunikācijas barjeras un to ietekme trešo valstu studentu integrēšanā Latvijas sabiedrībā. Darba izstrādē tika rasti risinājumi uz sākotnēji izvirzīto pētniecisko jautājumu – skaidrot, ar kādām komunikācijas barjerām saskaras RTU trešo valstu studenti Latvijā, kas kavē sekmīgu trešo valstu valstspiederīgo integrāciju ne tikai studiju periodā, bet arī pēc RTU absolvēšanas. Pētījums balstās uz profesora Guo-Minga Čena ieguldījumu par starpkultūru kompetenču apguves nozīmību efektīvas starpkultūru komunikācijas nodrošināšanai; pētnieku B. Poršņeva, G. Počepcova, O. Koroļevas un J. Melibrudas risinājumiem komunikācijas barjeru pārvarēšanai; profesores L. Barnas starpkultūru komunikācijas barjeru veidošanos dažādu kultūras pārstāvju interpretēšanas un novērošanas procesā. Empīriskajā daļā izmantota jauktā pētījuma metodoloģija. RTU trešo valstu studentu komunikācijas barjeru identificēšanai tika izmantota kvantitatīvo pētniecības metode – izstrādāta aptaujas anketa. Aptaujas datu apstrādei tika izmantota aprakstošās tēmas statistika, grafiskais atainojums, kā arī secinošā statistika. Komunikācijas barjeru cēloņu un iespējamo risinājumu konstatēšanai tika izmantota kvalitatīvā pētniecības metode – padziļinātas intervijas ar trešo valstu valstspiederīgajiem. Integrēšanas prakses un ar to saistīto izaicinājumu pieredze, kā arī starpkultūru izglītības un kompetenču nozīme studiju procesā tika atainota ekspertu intervijās ar starpkultūru komunikācijas eksperti Dr. paed. Liesmu Osi un RTU SSĀSD direktora vietnieci Zani Purlauru. Nestrukturēto interviju analīzei tika izmantota fenomenoloģiskā metode. Pētījuma rezultāti: Aptaujāti 239 trešo valstu studenti, intervēti trīs RTU absolventi un divi eksperti, lai konstatētu komunikācijas barjeru cēloņus, izprastu to izpausmes un apkopotu iesaistīto pušu ieteikumus sekmīgai komunikācijas barjeru pārvarēšanai. Pētījuma secinājumi: Raksturīgākā RTU trešo valstu studentu komunikācijas barjera ir valodas barjera, ko rada trešo valstu valstspiederīgo latviešu valodas un Latvijas sabiedrības svešvalodas nepietiekamais zināšanu līmenis. Izstrādātie priekšlikumi kalpos kā komunikatīvais palīginstruments RTU SSĀSD studentu integrēšanas sekmēšanā. Darba apjoms: 97 lpp., 29 attēli, 7 tabulas, 12 pielikumi, 54 literatūras avoti. ABSTRACT The Master thesis “Analysis of Communication Barriers in the Integration of the Third-Country Students at RTU into the Society of Latvia” discusses communication barriers and their influence on the third-country students of RTU within the integration into the society of Latvia. Solutions are provided to the initially developed research question – to identify the most characteristic communication barriers faced by the third-country students of RTU, which prevent them from a successful integration in Latvia during the studies and after the graduation. The research is based on professor Guo Ming Chen’s contribution of the acquisition of the intercultural competences, on researchers B.Porshnev’s, G. Pocheptsov’s, O. Koroleva’s and J. Mellibruda’s solutions to overcome communication barriers; on professor L. Barna’s work on intercultural communication barriers. The mixed research methodology is used in the empirical part of thesis. To identify the communication barriers faced by the third-country students of RTU, the data is collected by using the quantitative research method. The descriptive statistics of topic, graphic representation and inferential statistics is used for the analysis of survey. To define the causes of communication barriers and possible solutions, the qualitative research method is used – in-depth interview with third-country nationals. Experience of integration practice and related challenges, as well as the meaning of intercultural education and competences is represented in the interviews with the expert of integration of society and intercultural communication Dr. paed. Liesma Ose and the deputy director of RTU Zane Purlaura. The phenomenological method has been used for the analysis of the interviews. The results of the research: 239 third-country students have been surveyed, three RTU graduates and two experts have been interviewed to identify the causes of communication barriers and their exposure, and to summarize suggestions made by the involved parties for more successful overcoming of communication barriers. The conclusion of the research: The most characteristic communication barrier of RTU third-country students is the language barrier, which is caused by the insufficient level of knowledge of Latvian for third-country nationals and of English for the society of Latvia. The developed solutions will be used as communication tools to ensure the integration of third-country students by RTU ICFSD.
