Pectus excavatum is the depression of the sternum into the anterior chest wall creating a funnel chest and makes up 90% of all chest wall deformities. Over the past several decades new procedures and modifications to old procedures have evolved but no definitive guidelines have been established in the management of pectus excavatum. This literature review will go over all the modern treatment options available today and the indications for surgery. In conclusion, based on the findings, a guide will be laid out for optimal management options according to age and severity of the deformity.en-UK
