This paper is a literature review regarding Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy (TC), a condition which has gained a lot of traction since its discovery in 1990. This paper explores the intriguing and varying nature of TC, in which I will be presenting possible risk factors and associated conditions as well as clinical manifestations. Different possible pathophysiological mechanisms exist in regards to TC and in this paper I present and discuss the plausibility of the main ones. Furthermore I will present different available diagnostic criteria's as well as possible treatment options of TC.en-UK
