Dzīves kvalitāte cilvēkiem ar cerebrālo trieku: nodarbinātības pieredzes izpēte.

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir “Dzīves kvalitāte cilvēkiem ar cerebrālo trieku: nodarbinātības izpēte”. Cerebrālā trieka (CT) ir viens no biežākajiem fiziskās nespējas cēloņiem bērnībā, kas turpina ietekmēt cilvēkus arī pieaugušā vecumā, radot izaicinājumus sabiedrības veselības jomā. Lai, gan ir veikti daudzi pētījumu par bērniem ar CT, pieaugušo dzīves kvalitāte un nodarbinātības pieredze ir maz pētīta tēma. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir noskaidrot pieaugušo ar CT dzīves kvalitāti un nodarbinātības pieredzi, pievēršot uzmanību arī tam kā nodarbinātība ietekmē viņu dzīves kvalitāti un kā tā veicina vai ierobežo viņu integrāciju sabiedrībā. Darbs izmanto gan kvantitatīvo, gan kvalitatīvo pieeju, apkopojot datus no WHOQOL-BREF aptaujas (n=30) un fokusgrupas diskusijas (n=5). Tika izstrādāta detalizēta pētījuma metodoloģija, iekļaujot literatūras pārskatu par CT ietekmi uz dzīves kvalitāti, kā arī nodarbinātības nozīmi dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanā cilvēkiem ar CT. Pētījuma jautājumi – J1:Kāda ir dzīves kvalitāte cilvēkiem ar cerebrālo trieku? J2:Vai cilvēkiem ar smagākiem funkcionālajiem traucējumiem (GMFCS III-V) dzīves kvalitāte ir zemāka nekā cilvēkiem ar viegliem (GMFCS I-II) funkcionāliem traucējumiem? J3:Kāda ir pieaugušo ar cerebrālo trieku pieredze, galvenie šķēršļi un izaicinājumi saistībā ar nodarbinātību? Pētījuma rezultāti skaidri parāda, ka pieaugušajiem ar CT ir samazināta dzīves kvalitāte un pastāv nodarbinātības šķēršļi. Pateicoties liekākām nodarbinātības iespējām, pieaugušajiem ar vieglākiem funkcionālajiem traucējumiem dzīves kvalitātes rādītāji ir labāki salīdzinājumā ar pieaugušajiem, kuriem ir smagāki funkcionēšanas traucējumi. Cilvēki ar smagākiem funkcionēšanas traucējumiem saskaras ar nozīmīgākiem šķēršļiem, kas apgrūtina viņu piekļuvi darba tirgum un līdz ar to arī dzīves kvalitāti. Galvenie secinājumi norāda uz nepieciešamību uzlabot sabiedrības izpratni par CT un attīstīt efektīvas atbalsta sistēmas, kas veicina šo cilvēku integrāciju darba tirgū. Darba rezultāti var tikt izmantoti, lai uzlabotu politikas un atbalsta programmu izstrādi, kas vērsta uz pieaugušo ar CT dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanu. Abstract The topic of this master’s thesis is “Quality of Life for People with Cerebral Palsy: An Employment Experience Study.” Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most common causes of physical disability in childhood, continuing to affect individuals into adulthood, posing challenges in the field of public health. Although many studies have been conducted on children with CP, the quality of life and employment experiences of adults remain under-researched. The aim of this master’s thesis is to explore the quality of life and employment experiences of adults with CP, focusing on how employment affects their quality of life and how it facilitates or hinders their integration into society. The study employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches, gathering data from the WHOQOL-BREF survey (n=30) and focus group discussions (n=5). A detailed research methodology was developed, including a literature review on the impact of CP on quality of life and the importance of employment in improving the quality of life for people with CP. The research questions are: Q1: What is the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy? Q2: Do people with more severe functional impairments (GMFCS III-V) have a lower quality of life than those with mild functional impairments (GMFCS I-II)? Q3: What are the experiences, main barriers, and challenges related to employment for adults with cerebral palsy? The study results clearly indicate that adults with CP have a reduced quality of life and face employment barriers. Thanks to greater employment opportunities, adults with milder functional impairments have better quality of life indicators compared to adults with more severe functional impairments. People with more severe functional impairments encounter significant barriers that hinder their access to the labor market and, consequently, their quality of life. The key conclusions highlight the need to improve public understanding of CP and to develop effective support systems that promote the integration of these individuals into the labor market. The results can be used to improve the development of policies and support programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for adults with CP.
