Zemgales reģiona iedzīvotāju izpratne par reģionālās un lokālās preses lomu pilsoniskās līdzdalības veicināšanā.

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir "Zemgales reģiona iedzīvotāju izpratne par reģionālās un lokālās preses lomu pilsoniskās līdzdalības veicināšanā". Šis pētījums sniedz ieskatu, kā Zemgales reģiona iedzīvotāji uztver, izprot un vērtē lokālās un reģionālās preses lomu pilsoniskās līdzdalības veicināšanā. Maģistra darbs ir balstīts dienaskārtības teorijā, mediju lietojuma un apmierinājuma teorijā, ietver Latvijas mediju vides, īpaši, lokālo un reģionālo mediju vides raksturojumu, pilsoniskās līdzdalības jēdziena izklāstu. Pētījuma ietvaros tiek izmantota jaukta pētījuma stratēģija. Kvantitatīvi – ar aptauju tiek noskaidrots, kā pētījuma izlase saprot, kas ir pilsoniskā līdzdalība, kāds ir pētījuma izlases dalībnieku mediju lietojums, kvalitatīvi – ar fokusgrupu intervijām, dienasgrāmatas pētījumu, kvalitatīvo kontentanalīzi tiek noskaidrots, kāda ir lokālā/ reģionālā laikraksta ietekme pētījuma izlases dalībnieku pilsoniskās līdzdalības veicināšanā.Īpaša uzmanība maģistra darbā tiek pievērsta tam, kā mediji var veicināt sabiedrības izpratni par pilsoņu tiesībām un pienākumiem, kā arī motivēt uz aktīvāku līdzdalību demokrātiskajos procesos. Darba rezultāti sniedz ieskatu par mediju ietekmi uz sabiedrības pilsonisko līdzdalību Zemgalē un piedāvā rekomendācijas, kā lokālie un reģionālie mediji varētu efektīvāk veicināt pilsonisko līdzdalību. Šis pētījums ir nozīmīgs ieguldījums sabiedrības un mediju mijiedarbības izpētē, kas var būt noderīgs gan mediju organizācijām, gan politikas veidotājiem, kā arī sabiedriskajiem aktīvistiem. Darbs sastāv no ievada, astoņām nodaļām, diskusijas daļas, secinājumiem, bibliogrāfijas un pielikumiem.

The theme of the Master's work is "Understanding of the role of the regional and local press in promoting civic participation among residents of Zemgale region". This study provides an insight into how residents of the Zemgale region perceive, understand and appreciate the role of the local and regional press in promoting civic participation. The master's work is based on the theory of agenda, the theory of media usage and satisfaction, includes the characterisation of the media environment of Latvia, especially local and regional media environment, a description of the concept of civic participation. A mixed study strategy is used as part of the study. Quantitatively – the survey clarifies how the sample of the study understands what civic participation is, what the media usage of participants in the sample of the study is, qualitatively – with focus group interviews, diary study, qualitative contenting analysis clarifies what influence the local/regional newspaper has in promoting civic participation of participants in the sample of the study. Special attention is paid to the way in which the media can raise public awareness of citizens' rights and obligations and motivate more active participation in democratic processes. The results of the work provide an insight into the influence of the media on civic participation of society in Zemgale and offer recommendations on how local and regional media could promote civic participation more effectively. This research is an important contribution to research into public-media interaction, which can be useful to media organizations, policymakers and public activists alike. The work consists of an introduction, eight chapters, a discussion part, conclusions, bibliography and attachments.
