| lv-LV |
dc.description.abstract | A literature review about the rise of the gig economy which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary focus is the hazards that independent contractors have faced during the pandemic. The thesis focuses as well on recommendations and solutions which can be done to improve the conditions of the workers. The findings of the thesis find neglect of the digital platforms of which the independent contractors operate with in terms of providing safety during the pandemic. Additionally, the labeling of the workers as independent contractors gives the corporations the possibility to remove themselves from obligations and benefits that they can’t escape if they were considered employees. | en-UK |
