Air Pollutant Influence on Incidence of Leukemia amongst Pediatric Population

Abstract

Ir zināms, ka gaisa piesārņotāji, kas ir ļoti dominējoši mūsdienu pasaulē, negatīvi ietekmē dažādu patoloģiju attīstību un rada būtisku apdraudējumu sabiedrības veselībai. Pēdējo gadu laikā ir atklātas iespējamās sakarības starp leikēmiju un gaisa piesārņotāju iedarbību, un ir veikti vairāki pētījumi, lai to pierādītu, pārbaudot vairākas nelielas iedzīvotāju grupas saistībā ar dažādu iedarbību. Šī pētījuma mērķis: Izpētīt vairāku faktoru ietekmi uz bērnu leikēmijas sastopamību un noteikt ticamu saikni starp iesaistītajām vielām un attiecīgās patoloģijas rašanos. Pētījuma hipotēze: Vai gaisa piesārņotāju ietekme varētu būtiski ietekmēt leikēmijas attīstību?

It is known that air pollutants, that are very dominant in this modern world, have a negative influence in the development of different pathologies and constitute a relevant hazard towards public health. Probable links between leukaemia and air pollutant exposure have been proposed over the past years, and there have been several studies that were done to prove that same link, having tested several small population groups in regard to different exposures. Aim of this Research: To study the influence of several different hazardous activities in the incidence of childhood leukaemia, and establish a plausible link between the substances involved and occurrence of the pathology in question Hypothesis of the Research: Whether the influence of air pollutants could have a significant impact on leukaemia incidence.
