| lv-LV |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common skin disorders with a complex pathogenesis leading to xeroderma, skin inflammation and pruritus. The treatment of atopic dermatitis includes many possibilities, but new systemic medication groups have been approved in the last years. This review is conducted to identify key genotypes of the pathogenesis and disease severity, as well as the newest treatment options. Methodology: A systemic search of clinical trials and randomized clinical trials in the last 5 years was conducted via the PubMed database with keywords pertaining atopic dermatitis and its pathological processes. Conclusion: Genetic disorders, including disturbances in the skin barrier and the immune system, are a major cause in increasing the severity and impact of the patients suffering from Atopic dermatitis. The proper treatment is of key importance. Although the genetic processes cannot be abrogated, the new types of systemic medication can alleviate the disease severity in patients suffering from moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. | en-UK |
