Depression as Risk Factor for Coronary Heart Disease- Mechanisms behind it

Abstract

Manā literatūras apskatā tiek pētīta depresijas un koronāro artēriju slimības saistība un to kopīgā patofizioloģiskā fona. Koronāro artēriju slimība ir svarīgs invaliditātes un nāves cēlonis, un depresija ir viens no tās riska faktoriem. Depresija bieži rodas vienlaikus ar koronāro sirds slimību, un to savstarpējā saistība tiek uzskatīta par divvirzienu. Mans darbs mēģina atbildēt uz jautājumiem, kā un ar kādiem mehānismiem depresija tiek uzskatīta par vienu no koronāro artēriju slimības riska faktoriem.

My literature review examines the association of depression and coronary artery disease and their common pathophysiological background. Coronary artery disease is the important cause of disability and death, and depression is one of the risk factors for it. Depression is often occurring concomitantly with coronary heart disease, and interrelationship between them is considered as bidirectional. My thesis tries to answere questions how and by which mechanisms depression is considered as one of the risk factors for coronary artery disease.
