Zobu higiēnistu zināšanas par starpzobu kopšanas rīkiem

Abstract

Kvalifikācijas darba tēma ir “Zobu higiēnistu zināšanas par starpzobu kopšanas rīkiem”. Pētījuma mērķis: Veikt pētījumu par starpzobu kopšanas rīkus un Latvijas zobu higiēnistu zināšanas par tiem. Zobu tīrīšana tikai ar zobu birsti notīra apmēram 50% no zobu aplikuma (Todkar et al.,2022), tādēļ ir nepieciešama starpzobu tīrīšana, kuru instrukcijas sniedz zobu higiēnisti. Lai pacients neapjuktu plašajā klāstā, zobārstniecības speciālistiem ir jābūt pietiekoši zinošiem un jāspēj pacientiem ieteikt nepieciešamos starpzobu kopšanas rīkus. Pētījuma hipotēze: Latvijas zobu higiēnistu zināšanas par starpzobu kopšanas rīkiem ir labas. Pētījumā piedalījās 65 Latvijas zobu higiēnisti. Respondenti novērtēja savas zināšanas ar jau iepriekš izstrādāto anketu (Thevissen et al., 2019). Ar anketas palīdzību tika noskaidrotas Latvijas zobu higiēnistu rekomendācijas pacientiem par starpzobu kopšanas rīkiem, kādus tieši rekomendē pacientiem dažādās vecuma grupās, pie zobu implantiem un par higiēnas starpzobu kopšanas instrukciju un pacientam atvēlēto laiku vienā vizītē. Secinājumi: Visbiežāk rekomendētie starpzobu kopšanas rīki ir zobu diegs un starpzobu birstītes. Gumijotas birstītes, zobu bakstāmie kociņi ir reti rekomendēti, bet tomēr ir zobu higiēnisti, kas rekomendē arī šādus starpzobu kopšanas rīkus. Mutes dobuma irigātori tiek vairāk rekomendēti bērniem un pacientiem ar zobu implantiem. Latvijas zobu higiēnisti kopumā ir zinoši par starpzobu kopšanas rīkiem, bet katrs tomēr rekomendē atšķirīgus starpzobu kopšanas rīkus. Latvijā nav noteiktu vadlīniju, pēc kurām zobu higiēnisti ikdienā vadītos, lai rekomendētu nepieciešamos starpzobu kopšanas rīkus.

The title of Qualifacia's work is' knowledge of interdental care tools by dental hygienists. The purpose of the research: To investigate interdental care tools and Latvian dental hygienists' knowledge about them. Brushing teeth only removes about 50% of dental plaque (Todkar et al., 2022), so interdental cleaning is required, with instructions provided by dental hygienists. In order for the patient not to get confused in the wide range, dental specialists must be sufficiently knowledgeable and able to recommend the necessary interdental care tools to patients. Research hypothesis: Latvian dental hygienists' knowledge of interdental care tools is good. 65 Latvian dental hygienists participated in the study. Respondents assessed their knowledge with a previously developed questionnaire (Thevissen et al., 2019). With the help of a questionnaire, the recommendations of Latvian dental hygienists to patients regarding interdental care tools, which are directly recommended to patients in different age groups, for dental implants, and instructions for hygienic interdental care and the time allotted to the patient in one visit, were found out. Conclusions: The most recommended interdental care tools are dental floss and interdental brushes. Rubber brushes and toothpicks are rarely recommended, but there are dental hygienists who also recommend such interdental care tools. Oral irrigators are more recommended for children and patients with dental implants. Latvian dental hygienists are generally knowledgeable about interdental care tools, but each of them recommends different interdental care tools. In Latvia, there are no specific guidelines by which dental hygienists are guided on a daily basis in order to recommend the necessary interdental care tools.
