Izpratne par slimību un to ietekmējošiem faktoriem otrā tipa cukura diabēta gadījumā - izaicinājums farmaceitu ikdienā.

Abstract

Otrā tipa cukura diabēta pacientu skaits palielinās gan pasaulē, gan Latvijā. Vāja glikēmiskā kontrole un nepietiekama pacientu līdzestība, ir saistīta ar augstākiem mirstības rā-dītājiem un palielinātu diabēta komplikāciju attīstības risku. Šī darba mērķis ir novērtēt otrā tipa cukura diabēta pacientu zināšanas par slimības kon-troli un noskaidrot farmaceita iespējas dot savu ieguldījumu pacientu līdzestības veicināšanā. Lai iegūtu datus par pacienta informētību un izpratni par terapijas paškontroles rādītājiem, zāļu lietošanu ietekmējošajiem faktoriem un veselības aprūpes speciālistu apmeklēšanas biežumu, tika izveidota anketa. Rezultātā tika iegūti dati par pacientu zināšanām, iesaisti terapijā un ci-tiem būtiskiem aspektiem, piemēram, farmaceita lomu pacientu terapijā. Pētījumā tika noskaidrots, ka pacientu zināšanas par esošajiem terapijas rādītājiem ir vā-jas, bet zināšanas par terapijas optimālajiem mērķa rādītājiem ir vēl vājākas. Pacienti neuzņe-mas iniciatīvu savas terapijas uzlabošanā, jo tika novērots fizisko aktivitāšu, atbilstošas diētas un informācijas trūkums, turklāt endokrinologa, podologu, oftalmologa apmeklējuma biežums bija retāks nekā rekomendējams. Darbā tiek secināts, ka pacienti nepietiekami izmanto farma-ceita resursu, jo tikai 9,6% gadījumu diabēta pacienti neskaidros jautājumus par medikamento-zo terapiju uzdod farmaceitam, visbiežāk atbildes meklējot internetā (32,7%).

The prevalence of type 2 diabetes continues to increase both worldwide and in Latvia. Patients compliance with therapy is linked to many factors. However, inadequate adherence to diabetes treatment can significantly increase mortality and decrease the quality of life in general. A key contributor to high rates of mortality and diabetes complications is poor glycemic control and patients lack of education about their disease and treatment aspects. Scientific research work – “Understanding the disease and its contributing factors in type 2 diabetes: a challenge faced by pharmacist” – aims to assess the knowledge of patients with type 2 diabetes about the control of the disease and to find out ways of the pharmacist can evolve patient adherence to the therapy. A questionnaire was developed to obtain data on patient awareness and understanding, as well as treatment characteristics. As result, data on patient knowledge, involvement in therapy and other relevant aspects were obtained. Finally, as one of the most accessible healthcare professionals in Latvia, pharmacist involvement in diabetes treatment was clarified to increase patients knowledge, compliance with treatment as well as the quality of life. The results of the study show that patients have poor knowledge of their treatment parameters, but knowledge of optimal treatment parameters is even weaker. The frequency of visits to endocrinologists, podologist, and ophthalmologist raises concerns not only about non-compliance with therapy, but also contributes to the additional risk of developing diabetes complications. The study concludes that patients are still unaware of the pharmacist’s resources, quite often information is searched on one’s own in internet resources (32,7%), only 9,6% of diabetes patients used a pharmacist’s consultation in this case.
