Surgeon Work; Risk Factors and its Effects on Health

Abstract

Ķirurgi darba laikā ir pakļauti daudziem dažādiem riska faktoriem, tostarp asu instrumentu iedarbībai, saspringtām ķermeņa pozām, paaugstinātam stresa līmenim, neregulāram darba laikam ar neregulāru grafiku. Daudzi no šiem faktoriem ir saistīti ar veselības stāvokļa pasliktināšanos, kā arī darbaspēka produktivitātes un kopējā ķirurģiskā personāla dzīves i Ķirurģijas praktikantiem ir atšķirīga iedarbība uz riska faktoriem, salīdzinot ar viņu kolēģiem, kuri strādā ilgāku laiku. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt riska faktorus, kuriem ir pakļauti ķirurgi, un to ietekmi uz vispārējo veselību, kā arī vispārējo riska faktoru iedarbības un veselības stāvokļa atšķirību jaunāko ārstu vidū.

Surgeons are exposed to a variety of different risk factors during their working carrier including exposure to sharp tools, straining body position, increased stress levels, demanding working hours with irregular schedules. Many of those factors have been associated with decreased health, as well as decreased work performance and overall longevity of the surgical workforce. In surgical trainees the exposure to risk factors is different compared to their colleagues who have been working for a longer period. This research aims to study the risk factors surgeons are exposed to and their effect on general health as well as the overall difference in risk factor exposure and health outcome in junior doctors.
