Pecularities of the apicectomy operations

Abstract

Saknes gala rezekcijas operācija ir pazīstama arī kā periapikāla ķirurģija, periradikulāra ķirurģija, endodontiskā ķirurģija un sakņu gala kavitātes sagatavošana. Saknes gala rezekcija nodrošina alternatīvu ārstēšanas metodi jau endodontiski ārstētiem zobiem, kurus ar citām ārstēšanas metodēm nav iespējams saglabāt. Saknes gala rezekcijas operācija ir pēdējā ķirurģiskā metode zobu ārstēšanai ar periapikālu bojājumu pēc neveiksmīgas primāras konservatīvas ārstēšanas. Darba uzdevumi ir izpētīt šīs ārstēšanas metodes indikācijas un kontrindikācijas, lai atpazītu, kādās situācijās ir ieteicams veikt saknes gala rezekcijas operāciju, nevis zobu ekstrakciju un turpmāko zobu aizvietošanu. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt saknes gala rezekcijas vadlīnijas, ķirurģijas metožu un materiālu īpatnības, ka arī to ietekmi uz operācijas rezultātu un prognozi

An apicoectomy procedure is also known as periapical surgery, peri-radicular surgery, endodontic surgery, root-end resection, and root-end cavity preparation. In dental surgery, apicoectomies provide an alternative treatment method for already endodontically treated teeth that otherwise cannot be saved. An apicoectomy is the last consulted surgical technique when willing to preserve a tooth with a periapical lesion. Therefore, this paper has the objective to study the indications and contraindications of this treatment to recognise in which situations it is advised to proceed with the procedure, instead of performing an extraction or other surgical treatment possibilities. The aim of this paper is to discover the peculiarities of the existing methods and materials employed in an apicoectomy and their influencing power on the surgery outcome and success rate.
