Ievads – sarkopēnija ir viena no funkcionālā stāvokļa izmaiņu patoloģijām gados
vecākiem cilvēkiem. Tā izraisa skeletālās muskulatūras masas un spēka samazināšanos, kas
palielina risku uz negadījumiem un nepieciešamību pēc medicīniskā atbalsta. Vēl aizvien
slimība netiek laicīgi diagnosticēta un ārstēta. Grūtības sagādā esošo diagnostiskas rīku
izmantošanas laika ietilpība, personāla neuzticība tiem un īpašu medicīnisko pakalpojumu
trūkums. Maksimāla mēles spiediena mērījums var būt labs palīgs sarkopēnijas diagnostikā.
Izmeklējuma veids nav atzīts kā mērījums diagnostikas uzstādīšanai, tomēr klīnicists ar to
var noteikt risku slimības attīstībai. Maksimālā mēles spiediena mērierīce ir droša, viegli un
ātri pielietojama.
Mērķis – sniegt informāciju par mēles spiediena mērījuma izmantošanas iespējām
sarkopēnijas diagnostikā.
Materiāli un metodes – literatūras apskats ir veidots, balstoties uz zinātnisko
literatūru. Tika iekļauti zinātniskie raksti, kuri publicēti laika posmā no 2008. līdz 2023.
gadam. Darbā izmantotie materiāli tika iegūti, izmantojot RSU tiešsaistes datubāzes:
PubMed, Clinical Key, Wiley online library, ScienceDirect.
Secinājumi – Šajā literatūras apskatā tika apkopots zinātniskās literatūras pārskats
par sarkopēnijas definīciju, attīstību un ietekmi uz ikdienas funkcijām. Atsevišķi tika
izskatīta sarkopēnijas un disfāgijas saistība un ietekme uz mutes dobuma muskulatūru.
Maksimālā mēles spiediena mērījums ir potenciāls sarkopēnijas diagnostikas rīks. Tirgū
esošās maksimālā mēles spiediena mērierīces neuzrāda būtiskas atšķirības datos un var tikt
izmantotas mērījumiem. Salīdzinot ar citiem sarkopēnijas diagnostikas rīkiem, var secināt,
ka maksimālā mēles spiediena analīze ir konkurētspējīgs diagnostiskais rīks sarkopēnijas
atklāšanā. Papildus, maksimālā mēles spiediena mērierīces var tikt izmantotas ne tikai kā
diagnostiskās iekārtas, bet arī kā palīgierīce mēles muskulatūras rehabilitācijas procesā.
Introduction – sarcopenia is one of the functional status changing pathologies in elderly people. It causes a decrease in skeletal muscle mass and strenght, which increases risk of accidents and the need for medical support. The disease is still not diagnosed and treated on time. Difficulties come from existing diagnostic tools, that have time consuming usage, distrust from professionals in them and lack of special medical services. Measurement of maximum tongue pressure can be a good tool in the diagnosis of sarcopenia. This type of examination is not recognized for diagnosis estabishment, however, the clinician can use it to determine the risk of disease development. The maximum tongue pressure measurement device is safe, easy and quick to use. Purpose – to provide information about the possibilities of tongue pressure measurement usage in the diagnosis of sarcopenia. Methods – the literature review is based on scientific literature. Scientific articles published between 2008 and 2023 were included. The materials used in this paper were obtained using RSU online databases: PubMed, Clinical Key, Wiley online library, ScienceDirect. Conclusion – this literature review summarized the scientific literature of the sarcopenia definition, development and impact on daily function. The relationship between sarcopenia and dysphagia, and the effect on the musculature of the oral cavity were examined separately. Measurement of maximum tongue pressure is a potential diagnostic tool for sarcopenia. Maximum tongue pressure measuring devices that are available in the market do not show significant differences in data and can be used for measurements. Compared with other diagnostic tools for sarcopenia, it can be concluded that maximum tongue pressure analysis is a competitive diagnostic tool in the detection of sarcopenia. In addition, maximum tongue pressure measuring devices can be used not only as diagnsotic equipment, but also as an auxiliary tool in the rehabilitation process of the tongue muscles.
