Kopsavilkums

This literature review investigates the relationship between chronic exposure to heavy metals and the development of renal pathologies among workers of the manufacturing sector. 4 heavy metals, Cadmium, Arsenic, Lead, and Mercury were studied. Numerous studies from PubMed were retrieved to assess the incidence of renal pathologies in manufacturing sector workers compared to the general population, pathophysiological mechanisms through which these heavy metals can cause renal pathologies, effective treatment methods, and prophylactic measures to prevent any potential nephrotoxic effects caused by the heavy metals.
