Darba mērķis bija apskatīt pēdējos 5 gados publicēto literatūru par onkoloģiskās terapijas komplikācijām mutes dobumā, to ārstēšanu un profilaksi, kā arī sadarbībā ar Paula Stradiņa Klīniskās universitātes slimnīcas mutes, sejas un žokļu ķirurģijas centru izstrādāt rekomendācijas pacientiem mutes dobuma kopšanā un zobārstiem pacientu sagatavošanā pirms onkoloģiskās terapijas, kā arī ieteikumus onkologiem - ķīmijterapeitiem biežāko mutes dobuma komplikāciju profilaksei un ārstēšanai. Darba veikšanas rezultātā tika identificētas problēmas uz pierādījumiem balstītas terapijas pielietošanas iespējās lokālajai populācijai, kā arī kārtējo reizi apstiprināts optimālas mutes dobuma higiēnas nozīmīgums onkoloģiskās terapijas mutes dobuma komplikāciju profilaksei.
The aim of this document was to analyze literature pertaining to cancer therapy complications in the oral cavity, their therapy and prophylaxis, published in the last 5 years. As well as develop recommendations in collaboration with Pauls Stradiņš Clinical university hospital maxillofacial surgery center suitable for patients undergoing cancer therapy as well as dentists preparing patients for cancer therapy, and suggestions for oncologists whose patients have oral complications of cancer therapy. During the research process problems were identified in regards to the providers’ ability to follow evidence based treatment for the local population. Furthermore, the importance of optimal oral hygiene for cancer patients was established once more.
