Datortomogrāfija (CT) nodrošina visaptverošu ķermeņa skenēšanu, bet tāi piemīt jonizējošs starojumu, kas var būt bīstams. Apsvērums par starojuma devas daudzumu konusa staru dator tomogrāfijā (CBCT) ir īpaši svarīgs ortodontijas plānošanai bērniem un jauniešiem. Šī literatūras pārskata mērķis ir izpētīt un saprast datortomogrāfijas riskus, potenciālo kaitējumu un nepieciešamību samazināt starojuma devu no CT, īpaši pievēršot uzmanību bērnu un jauniešu grupām. Kā arī, izprast datortomogrāfijas jēdzienu un novērtēt, kā šie izmeklējumi veicina ortodontiskās ārstēšanas plānošanu, tās priekšrocības un trūkumus. Literatūra šim pētījumam tika atlasīta izmantojot pieejamās tiešsaistes datu bāzes. CBCT pielietojumam ortodontijā ir trūkumi, jo tas pakļauj pacientus lielākai starojuma devai nekā standarta rentgena izmeklējumi, radot bažas par potenciāliem ilgtermiņa veselības traucējumiem. Par CT pielietošanu ortodontijā tiek diskutēts, daži speciālisti to atbalsta, ņemot vērā specifiskās diagnostikas priekšrocības identificējot zobu anomālijas, piemēram, retinētus zobus un sakņu rezorbciju.
Computed Tomography (CT) gives comprehensive body scans, but it uses ionizing radiation, which can be hazardous. Concerns concerning radiation dosage levels are especially important in dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT) for orthodontic planning in children and young adults. This literature review aims to investigate and understand the risks, potential harm, and necessity of minimizing radiation exposure from CT examinations, particularly in the pediatric and young adult populations. Furthermore, to understand the concept of CT and to assess how CT examinations contribute to orthodontic treatment planning, its advantages, and drawbacks. To obtain appropriate articles and data, this paper conducted an electronic search using online databases. CBCT in orthodontics has disadvantages since it exposes patients to more radiation than standard radiography, causing worries about potential long-term health consequences. The routine use of CT in orthodontics is being debated, with some practitioners supporting it due to its specific diagnostic benefits in identifying dental abnormalities such as impactions and root resorption.
